My youngest adores Lego so when he heard about Brighton Modelworld 2012 (‘a must for every modelling enthusiast’) I knew where we’d all be on Sunday. The eldest came along for the ride, a friend in tow, ducking out to the Churchill Shopping Centre before we’d even parked. Modelworld was at the Brighton Centre, conveniently on the seafront so that once my Lego fiend had gone in with his Dad and uncle the rest of us took a stroll along the beach.
The cafés and ice cream shops were busy, and the beachfront was buzzing with people enjoying the sunny weather. A crowd was watching some inline skaters perfecting their moves, and there was even a bikini clad beach volleyball match in progress. Before we left, I did pop in to see Modelworld for myself. It’s not really my thing but amongst the daleks and beardy men there were some impressive models on display, including a vast Lego Westminster Abbey. It’s an annual event, and next year will be on 22-24 February. http://www.brightonmodelworld.com/
