Photobox giveaway

Stackpole, Wales. Copyright Gretta Schifano

I love this photo. I took it a couple of years ago in Wales when I rented a holiday house with a group of friends. The house is on the National Trust’s gorgeous Stackpole Estate on the Pembrokeshire coast. As we walked down to the beach just after arriving the evening light was beautiful and I took this photo as the children went ahead.

Looking at this picture makes me feel happy and relaxed. I remember a few days of glorious UK weather enjoying the Stackpole beaches, eating outside in the evenings and all of us going out in the dark to look for bats. I remember how the five biggest children dragged beds around upstairs so that they could all sleep in the same room. I remember the peace and relaxation of no mobile phone signal or WiFi to distract us from enjoying each other’s company.

When Photobox kindly offered to make me some things using my photos I chose this one straight away. It’s now printed on a large framed canvas and hangs near my desk looking lovely and inspiring me. It’s also on my new phone case because I couldn’t choose a different photo. Photobox can make your photos into all sorts of other things too, from calendars and books to cushions and T-shirts.

If you’d like to win a £40 Photobox voucher so that you can have your favourite photo or photos made into something lovely, then tell me which photo you’d choose? Is it of a person, a place a pet or something else?

I’d try and find the picture of the family at lands end! Loved that picture and it brings back some really happy memories. My little sister was like, two years old. That day was one of the best memories I have. 😀

My Mother died in 2000 and I miss her terribly. I have a photo of her which was taken on a runway. She was a Warrant Officer in the Air Cadets and that particular day she was supervising the cadets for a flight day. The photo is actually taken from behind her but it’s the way she is standing, with one hand in her pocket that really captures me because it’s the way I always remember her standing, from when I was a little girl. The photo was taken late in the day as well so she is partially in shadow but it tugs at my heart every time I look at it.

I have a photo my husband took years ago (before we were even married) of a single tree in a field and the sky behind it is incredible. It is such a stunning photo and we came across the field completely by chance as it was by a layby where we stopped for a snack during a long journey. That would be my very first choice of photo! Next would be the poppy field we stopped in (again by chance) after I finally got treatment for my pregnancy sickness and was able to actually get out of the house and enjoy an afternoon with my husband as that holds many precious memories.
