Picnic hamper giveaway

‘Can we have the hamper today?’

My son’s been asking the same question every day when I collect him from school, ever since a lovely picnic hamper arrived for us to review. It’s a Kenwood Picnic Hamper from Serenata Hampers. But it’s been cold and rainy, not picnic weather at all. (I know my son would be happy to eat the entire contents of the hamper while siting on the sofa playing Minecraft on the Xbox, but the rest of us agreed that a picnic hamper has to be enjoyed outside). Then finally the sun came out yesterday and at last it was warm enough for a picnic.

The hamper is a pretty wicker basket with an insulated liner so that you can use it with ice packs to keep food chilled. Under the lid of the hamper are plates and cutlery for two but there are no cups. Inside our hamper there was a range of yummy food: cheese crackers and rosemary crackers, nuts, mature cheddar cheese, duck pâté, shortbread biscuits, a couple of bars of chocolate, strawberry jam and marmalade. We decided to add to this to make a meal so we bought some bread, chicken, berries and other bits on the way home from school.

The picnic spot was our back garden because the eldest is in the middle of her GCSE exams. She had a break from History revision to join us on the picnic blankets. Our dog and cat were keen to join in too but we had to pen them inside until the eldest could bear it no longer and released them. We all liked everything in the hamper apart from the duck pâté – but that’s probably because I don’t eat meat and the others just don’t like pâté. My favourite thing about the hamper is the basket itself. I love the way it looks and it’s very practical too.

Serenata Hampers can deliver hampers, wine, chocolates, flowers and plants in the UK to arrive the day after they’re ordered. They’re giving a Kenwood Picnic Hamper to a Mums do travel reader. If you’d like a chance to have this hamper delivered to your door then enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck!

At the back of my house is a wood and right in the middle is an almost treeless hill where you can see for miles. I take my nearly 2 year old there often for a little picnic while Daddys at work.
