Meet & greet airport parking

I flew from Heathrow Terminal 5 recently and was offered the chance to try meet and greet parking there, which was great. Following instructions which had been mailed to me, I drove into the short stay car park via the Fast Track lane and parked near the lifts in a designated bay. I then handed my car keys to Christine, the parking lady, who was very cheerful and efficient even though it was 6am on a Monday morning. Christine’s equally chipper colleague Jeff gave me a long, colourful and hard-to-lose ticket explaining what to do on the way back and I stepped  into the lift to the terminal.

On my return I was in my car within five minutes of collecting my suitcase from the carousel. It was all very simple, not at all stressful and I’d definitely recommend it, especially if travelling with children in tow.

Meet and greet parking is so convenient and it can save so much time too, but it is important to choose a reliable company with proper car park facilities. Always look for the ParkMark Safer Parking award which means the company’s car park has been inspected by the Police and offers a secure place for your car to be parked.

I think I’d quite like this but would have to persuade my husband who has an innate fear of handing over his keys to someone else. Yet we have done this with hotel valet parking so I don’t know why he’s so worried.

You’ll have to persuade him – or take a spare set of keys!

Sounds good as airport parking is one of my main stress points for traveling!

I know, me too, especially when you have to get a bus to departures once you’ve parked.

We occasionally do Meet & Greet. It’s fantastic and sometimes, depending on how long we’re away, isn’t that much more than regular parking that takes ages….

I’d definitely do it again – it was just so easy
