If you’re dreaming of experiencing Oahu’s famous North Shore without the crowds and in a way that’s tailored just for you, this private 6-hour luxury convertible tour might be exactly what you’re looking for. While we haven’t personally taken this exact tour, the reviews and details paint a compelling picture, especially for those who appreciate flexibility, comfort, and a dash of style during their island adventures.
Two things that really stand out about this experience are its fully customizable nature—meaning you can shape your day to match your interests—and the luxury convertible that makes for a memorable ride. The open-air car offers a breezy, scenic way to take in the sights, making it a treat for anyone who loves a good drive with killer views.
Mark is a great knowledgeable driver with fun suggestions for stops. We would not have found on our own the stops he suggested. He was flexible, professional and friendly.highly recommend
This is our second trip to Oahu in 5 months; this time we wanted to get to see a little more of the island and this is the way to do it! Customized to see the places you want and skip the ones you don't. Pickup time and drop off time? You choose. Mark knows the island inside and out and is a very pleasant companion and guide. Made us want to even to it again perhaps another visit.
We had a fantastic tour with Mariko. She picked us up on time and even had umbrellas for us when the rain moved in. She was so knowledgeable about the island and definitely knew all of the best places to take us to avoiding the crowds. If we're ever back in Oahu, we would definitely use them again.
Of course, one thing to keep in mind is that this is a private tour designed for small groups, which translates to a higher price point—$760 for up to four passengers. That puts it in the realm of a splurge, but many find it’s worth the cost for the personalized service and memorable experience. It’s particularly well-suited for couples, friends, or small families who want an exclusive, flexible way to explore Oahu’s iconic spots.

The Heart of the Tour: What You Can Expect

This tour offers a flexible, intimate way to discover Oahu’s North Shore. Unlike cookie-cutter group tours, this private experience lets you decide which sights to see and how long to spend at each. The idea is to prioritize your interests while enjoying the comfort of a well-equipped, luxurious vehicle.
Starting with the Dole Plantation, you get a sweet glimpse into Hawaii’s pineapple heritage. It’s a classic stop, and the famous Dole Whip ice cream alone makes it worth the visit. The large gift shop is full of pineapple-themed goodies, and the pineapple train ride offers a fun introduction to the area — a favorite among reviewers.
Next, a quick visit to the Iolani Palace gives you a taste of Hawaii’s royal past. Though just a brief stop, it’s a chance to stretch your legs and admire the only royal palace in the United States. It’s interesting to see the contrast between the lush, natural beauty of the islands and the stately architecture of this historic site.
Exploring the Beaches and Surf Spots

One of the highlights of this tour is getting up close to Waimea Bay and the famous Banzai Pipeline. Waimea Bay is a stunning spot renowned for its dramatic waves, especially during surf season. When calm, it’s a perfect place for swimming or just soaking in the scenery. During peak times, the waves attract surfers from around the world, and you might even see some daring jumps from the rocks if you stop briefly.
The Ehukai Beach Park—home to the legendary Banzai Pipeline—is a must-see for surf fans. Depending on the day, you might catch some surfers riding the barrels or body surfers enjoying the waves. The tour notes this as a drive-by spot, but stopping here is an option if you want to snap photos or take in the scene.
Thank you Mark for showing us around the island it was a great way to see things we had no idea were there. My dad really enjoyed his birthday present and to stop at the outlets at the end was fantastic.

Shark’s Cove is another snorkel haven within a shallow, protected reef. It’s perfect if you’re into snorkeling and want to see a variety of fish in a calm environment. The fact that snorkel gear is provided at no extra charge means you can jump right in without fussing over rentals.
Nature, Plantations, and Local Flavors

A visit to Waimea Valley offers a chance to walk through a botanical garden and, if you’re up for it, swim beneath a 40-foot waterfall. The water flow over the falls is refreshing, and the life jackets provided make it accessible for most. It’s a highlight for many, blending nature with a bit of adventure.
A visit to the Green World Coffee Farms is a treat for caffeine lovers. You’ll get to see the coffee plants, sample different blends, and learn about the process from cherry to cup. It’s a laid-back stop that’s both educational and tasty.
For a true taste of local flavors, your guide might suggest stops at Ted’s Bakery for their famous Chocolate Haupia Cream Pie or Leonard’s Bakery for their iconic Malasadas. These are classic treats that many travelers rave about, and sampling them is almost a rite of passage.
Shopping and Local Culture

Haleiwa Town Center is the final stop, offering a charming glimpse into local life. The town’s buildings look like they've stepped out of the 1920s, and it’s packed with surf shops, boutiques, and local eateries. You can browse for souvenirs, pick up a shave ice, or grab some of the famous garlic shrimp from the food trucks. It’s a lively spot that’s perfect for soaking in some local culture.
If you’re into spirits, a quick visit to Ko Hana Distillers gives you a chance to taste handcrafted rum made from sugar cane juice. The tasting fee is $10, but it goes toward a bottle if you decide to buy. It’s a fun, flavorful addition to your day.
