If you’re eyeing a memorable day in Niagara Falls’ wine country, this 6-hour wine, cheese, and chocolate tasting tour might just be what you’re looking for. From what we’ve seen in reviews, it’s a well-loved experience that offers a blend of tasting, sightseeing, and good company. It’s designed for those who appreciate quality wines, love culinary treats, and enjoy a relaxed, informative vibe.
Two things we really like about this tour are the variety of wineries visited and the knowledgeable guides who keep the experience engaging. Plus, the inclusion of a lunch featuring a cheese and charcuterie board makes it feel more substantial than just sipping wine all day. On the flip side, one thing to keep in mind is that the tour’s schedule is tight, and if you’re not a fan of long group outings, you might find it a bit busy.
This experience suits wine enthusiasts, curious travelers wanting to explore Ontario’s wine scene, or those celebrating a special occasion. It’s also great if you prefer organized tours with transportation included, removing the hassle of driving between wineries. Overall, it’s a well-rounded way to enjoy Niagara’s scenic vineyards without stress.
Nice tour; driver Tony was very pleasant. Beautiful scenery. However, title is misleading in that there is no lunch. In a 6 hour tour, 10 am-4 pm ! Just a smallish charcuterie board. Tasty, but barely appetizer sized. 22 alcohol tastings; not enough food. Chocolate truffle tasting was fun. I suggest if you go, until this company gets its act together, you can order and pay separately for extra food possibly at the first stop, Greif (?), and certainly at the 4th, Chateau des Charmes. We bought a cheese tray and cheese puffs at CDC to supplement the nice chocolate tasting.
Great tour and Don was a great guide. Would totally do it again! Loved all the different wine tastings and Don kept the ride interesting and entertaining!
John was great!! Tour worth every penny! Delicious charcuterie and chocolate!!! Pick up on the US side was easy and appreciated! John was personable and knowledgeable. Was a fantastic day out! Was over 20 tastings! Fantastic deal! Thanks OTL!!

Wineries and Their Unique Charm
This tour visits five wineries, each with its own character and specialties.
- De Simone Vineyards is the first stop, and it’s a cozy, rustic organic winery. We loved how it radiates authenticity, with a traditional farm vibe that feels like stepping back into a simpler time. It’s perfect for those who appreciate boutique, small-batch wines. The 45-minute tasting here is enough to get a sense of their offerings without feeling rushed.
- Caroline Cellars is a family-run operation with a half-century of history, emphasizing fresh wines and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The family history behind this winery adds a personal touch that visitors often enjoy.
- Reif Estate Winery offers a straightforward tasting of three hand-picked wines, with the winemaker’s choice adding a personal touch. The reviews highlight that the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making it easy to learn about each wine.
- Between the Lines Winery is especially interesting because it pairs a curated wine tasting with a warm food option prepared by Chef Tim MacKiddie. This pairing elevates the experience, letting you savor the wines alongside delicious bites.
- Château Des Charmes is notable for its history—founded by a fifth-generation French winegrower, it’s one of the more established names in the region. The estate’s elegant setting and quality wines make it a highlight.
- The Wayne Gretzky Estates is more than just a winery; it’s a landmark. The seated tasting hall offers a comfortable environment to sample four wines, including their famous Peachwine. Reviewers mention the personalized tastings and the chance to enjoy the estate’s scenery.
- If time permits, Konzelmann Estate Winery is included as a backup, often incorporated into the schedule. Its renovated tasting hall and selection, including the renowned Peachwine, add to the variety.
The Lunch: Cheese & Charcuterie
Lunch is a thoughtful addition, provided at Between the Lines Winery. The cheese and charcuterie board isn’t just a filler but a highlight for many guests. Visitors frequently mention how the lunch complements the tasting, making the day feel more balanced and satisfying.

Stunning autumn day in Ontario. Five different wineries/distilleries – lots of variety for your wine or spirits. Lovely hosts at each location, willing to share and teach this wine newbie. Our driver host, Don Sexsmith, is a treasure! Extremely gregarious and entertaining while keeping us on schedule. So very glad he was driving – I may have been slightly impaired after that many tastings. The charcuterie board is beautiful and definitely needed to pace yourself. The chocolates are luscious with many flavor pairings and textures NOTE: Several bottles went home with us and there would have been many more if we could have gotten or shipped them over the Canada/USA border. Considering another …
It was a wonderful and fun experience Also we met a new friends joining our experience Which we all enjoyed together John our coach was excellent We all enjoyed it love to do it again Bernice Pete
My wife and I booked this wine tour through Viator. We liked the idea of it being a smaller tour with more winery visits than the other tours. We were visiting Niagara Falls from Michigan for our anniversary and thought why not try to visit some wineries and Niagara on the lake. Our tour driver Don, was the best. He was knowledgeable of the area, the wines, and the wineries too. We had a history lesson of the area and that made our experience very enjoyable. He picked us up at our hotel and then proceeded to pick up another couple visiting from North Carolina. It just so happened that their anniversary was the same day as ours. We had a great time Just the four of us and we fell in love with…
