Exploring the Skadar Lake Cruise from Virpazar: An Honest Review

If you’re considering a trip to Montenegro, the Skadar Lake cruise starting from Virpazar is often recommended as a must-do experience. While I haven’t taken this specific tour myself, I’ve gathered plenty of insights from travelers who’ve been there, and it sounds like a wonderful way to soak up some of Montenegro’s most iconic scenery and history.
What really appeals is the combination of peaceful lake views and a historic monastery, which makes it stand out from typical boat rides. Plus, the inclusion of local wine tastings offers a nice touch of regional flavor—something many travelers appreciate. That said, it’s worth noting that the cost doesn’t include the national park fee (around 5 euros), which is a small extra step to keep in mind.
beautiful trip on the lake and informative too. we got to see pelicans. kom monastery is nice too. free drinkd on the boat.
We enjoyed every second with you Igor, you are the best!!!
Really easy to book and find. Igor our guide was knowledgeable and despite apologising for his lack of English, he needn't have as he was perfectly understandable and funny. He also let us know where the good photo angles were! The visit to Kom was a treat, although there are some steps to be aware of. Lake Skadar is breathtaking and the price of the tourist was amazing value for money.
This cruise seems best suited for travelers who love nature, history, and a relaxed pace. Whether you’re traveling with friends, a partner, or even solo—especially if you enjoy calm waters, birdwatching, and cultural sites—this experience could be a highlight of your Montenegro trip.
