If you’re considering a night excursion from Rhodes Town to the charming village of Lindos, you’re in for a treat. We’ve looked into this tour, and while we haven’t done it ourselves, the feedback from travelers paints a pretty clear picture of what you can expect.
It’s a well-reviewed experience, rated 4.7 out of 5 from 182 reviews, and priced at around $29 per person, making it accessible for many.
What we love about this trip is how smoothly it combines scenic photo stops with ample free time in an iconic Greek setting. The opportunity to explore Lindos’s labyrinthine streets, visit the archaeological sites, and catch a breathtaking sunset from the Acropolis makes it a solid choice for those wanting a taste of local flavor without overcommitting.
This was 'just' a bus trip to get picked up near to hotel and dropped back later. Because there were no stops on the way, once everyone had been picked up, it was quicker than public transport, but a lot cheaper than a taxi. There wouldn't really be much to say about it, if it wasn't for the driver, Apostolos. He was absolutely hilarious and kept everyone entertained, but was also very knowledgeable about the area and the island in general, pointing out places of interest and giving pertinent facts. He definitely made the trip!
Lindos was beautiful, especially at night. Obviously you can go on the public bus for less, but actually it wasn’t much more expensive considering I had a pickup close to my hotel and the journey was much quicker than the bus. It was well timed so that the acropolis was still open, and we had a scenic stop on the way back. And Apostolis was a very entertaining driver!
This was a great experience and easy to navigate. I would highly recommend this option to get you from Rhodes to Lindos. Beware in the summer months Lindos is still a lot hotter than Rhodes so be prepared.
A possible consideration? The timing can be tight, especially if you want to visit the archaeological site, which is only open until around 7:15 pm. Plus, the hot summer weather might make the uphill climb in the heat less comfortable without proper planning.
Still, if you’re after a relaxed evening with beautiful views, this tour could be just right. It’s best suited for travelers who enjoy short but insightful excursions and want to see Lindos illuminated at night.
This experience suits those who enjoy a blend of sightseeing, photo ops, and local ambiance. It’s perfect if you prefer a guided but flexible outing, and if you want to avoid the hassle of arranging transport or navigating on your own.
