4.9(468 reviews)From $154 per person

If you’re considering a trip from Istanbul to the Gallipoli Peninsula, this full-day guided tour offers a thoughtful way to connect with a significant chapter of World War I history. We’ve seen plenty of tours around historical sites, but what makes this one stand out is the strong emphasis on meaningful storytelling and well-organized logistics.

Two aspects we genuinely appreciate are the guides who bring the battlefields to life and the thoughtful itinerary that hits all the major memorials and battle sites. Plus, the value for money, especially with the included lunch and round-trip transportation, makes it a practical choice for many travelers.

One thing to keep in mind is the long drive—the entire day involves roughly 4-5 hours each way in the vehicle. This can be tiring, especially in peak seasons or if you’re not into long bus journeys. Still, if you’re eager to learn more about Gallipoli’s history and pay respects at the memorials, this tour is a solid pick.

The trip overall was fantastic. Pick-up ran pretty smoothly. Rest breaks were ok. Limited in food choices though, especially on the trip back to Istanbul. I think the day trip is pretty quick. Most of the day trip was the travelling to and from Istanbul to Gallipoli. Then you have about 4 really rushed hours around each of the Gallipoli sites. If you want the full Gallipoli experience I wouldn’t recommend the day trip. Book a full week and stay in the area. Bit expensive when I think about it. But I guess, it is a long drive. You definitely have to make the most of it once you arrive and actually begin your Gallipoli Tour. Our tour guide Charlie was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and pas…

Nothing much to be said. Chareh (Charlie), our guide that is, was amazing. He explained everything on a map he had initially on the landing site and then kept on informing throughout the day regarding where we were and what significance each place had on the peninsula.

This experience is best suited for history buffs, those wanting a deep dive into the Gallipoli campaign, or travelers interested in a respectful, guided reflection on the sacrifices made during WWI. It’s also good for anyone comfortable with a full day of travel and sightseeing.
