Thinking about a snowy escape in Spain’s sunny south? I’ve been looking into the Sierra Nevada Snowshoe Hiking Tour in Andalusia, and it looks like a pretty fantastic way to enjoy the mountains without needing any prior experience or hiking prowess. This tour is designed to be accessible, fun, and packed with views that will stay with you long after you leave.

What really caught my eye are two things: First, the panoramic vistas from over 2,500 meters—imagine gazing out at spectacular peaks with fresh mountain air filling your lungs. Second, the friendly, guides who, based on reviews, go above and beyond to ensure everyone has a memorable time.

A potential consideration? The path can be uneven at times, which might be a small challenge for some. Also, as with all mountain adventures in winter, weather conditions can impact the tour, so it’s good to plan for some flexibility.

It was so much fun! I did not find snowshoeing very demanding, if you are reasonably fit and able to walk a few kilometres at a moderate pace, you will surely enjoy it. Julio is super friendly, he will choose an appropriate trail and he will also take great pictures of you. All your friends will turn green with envy when you post them 🙂 Last but not least, I appreciate that the trip was not cancelled even though there were only 3 of us. Thanks a lot, Julio!

It was a very nice activity, something I never tried before but can highly recommend. You feel and experience the beautiful mountains. It's also a bit more adventurous than a normal hike but very easy and safe well at the same time a great alternative to wintersports such as skiing or snowboarding. Julio was a very good guide and there was a nice ambient with the other traveler. The tour company itself is one I personally can recommend for any outdoor or adventure activity. Very responsible, they won't take any risks regarding safety (my other hike was cancelled due to bad weather) and also very conscious (they mostly do hiking and biking tours in nature). And it felt very personal/informal …

This experience seems great for beginners, families, or anyone wanting a gentle but beautiful snow adventure in the Sierra Nevada. If you’re after stunning nature, a relaxed pace, and expert guidance, this tour could be just the ticket.

Sierra nevada was a last minute activity for us but boy did we not regret it one single bit. Julio was an amazing guide, giving us advice even before the trip to ensure that we are prepared. I forgot to bring my gloves and i was freezing, but Julio kindly lent me his gloves which was a lifesaver. Throughout the hike, he points out certain natural occurrences such as fox footprints, animal nests etc which was very interesting. Lastly, he takes very good photos as well!!

The Post-Hike Cozy Finish

After the trek, you’re rewarded with a visit to the cafeteria of the university hostel—ideal for warming up and refueling. Expect to enjoy a hot drink, which is a perfect way to end your snow adventure and reflect on the great views and new memories created.
