Absolutely brilliant day! From the start to the finish we were looked after. The boat was lovely, stops were great, loved being kept upto date with what was happening/when/where we were. Cleopatra island is the main event which was outstanding, we got just over 2 hours there, I could have stayed all day it was gorgeous. We went on a trip 2 days before this booked through GYG too which was the worst so we didn’t have high expectations tbh but we were blown away, definitely recommend this trip really turned our holiday around.

Everything was lovely and worthy with stunning views of the island and lovely stops when we jumped from the boat to the sea. The service provided by the boat staff was very good and deserved every single penny we paid. We highly recommend this trip to others.

Myself and my friend had a fantastic time. The pickup was timely and each location was so beautiful. Massive thanks to Veronika and the team.

One potential drawback is that the admission fee for Cleopatra’s Island isn’t included—so you’ll need to budget for that separately if you want to explore the ruins or walk around the island. Also, some reviews mention that the boat can feel overcrowded at times and that the lunch might not fully meet expectations if you’re expecting a true BBQ.

This tour suits travelers who enjoy a balanced mix of relaxing on the water, sightseeing, and light adventure without the fuss of more commercialized trips.

Gulf of Gokova and Cleopatra Island Boat Trip with BBQ Lunch - The Full Experience: What to Expect

First, let’s talk about the itinerary. This trip kicks off with hotel pickups—convenient if you’re staying locally—and heads out towards Gokova Bay. On the way, you’ll enjoy swimming breaks at Incekum Bay and near Fenerli Island, where the water is known for being warm and inviting.

These stops give you the chance to dip in the sea, relax on the boat, or soak up the sun while taking in views of the bay.

Once you arrive at Cleopatra Island, you’ll have around three hours or more to explore. The island’s white sandy beach is the big draw—legend has it that Mark Anthony imported the sands as a gift for Cleopatra, and it’s a spectacle worth seeing.

No improvements to be made. The boat trip I found to be enjoyable because it wasn’t overly busy. The journey there direct and it wasn’t over crowded. Also It was clean well organised and the food better than my partner had expected. We would recommend this company to friends . All the staff were polite and friendly. There were Two young lads who were learning the” ropes” literally and were very enthusiastic. Great team . The journey back gives swimmers plenty of opportunity to dip into the sea. We were very happy with our tour experience. Big thank you.

The sand’s tiny, shiny grains are protected as a National Conservation Area, so you’re not allowed to take any with you, but just walking on it is enough to see why it’s so celebrated.

While on the island, you're free to stroll through olive groves, relax on the beach, or check out the Roman amphitheater ruins and fortifications. These remnants add a layer of historical intrigue, giving a glimpse into the past civilizations that called the island home. It’s a peaceful, scenic spot where you can take photos, unwind, and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.

Back on the boat, a chicken lunch is served—spaghetti, salad, and a piece of chicken. Many reviews note that the food quality exceeds expectations with some describing it as "really nice" and "better than expected." A bar on board also offers soft drinks, and for those wanting extras like prawns or fish, these are available at additional cost.

On the way back to Marmaris, you'll make a swimming stop at Dolphin Bay, another opportunity to cool off and enjoy the clear waters. The entire day wraps up around 6 p.m., leaving you with a full but relaxed experience.

The lunch, although generally well-liked, is not a barbecue as some might expect, and extras like prawns or fish can be pricey.
