Starting at the Chapel of Peace: A Sacred Photo Spot

The tour kicks off at the Capilla de la Paz (Chapel of Peace), a serene monument atop a hill offering panoramic views of Acapulco Bay. We loved the way this spot combines spiritual significance with some of the best vantage points in the city.

Robert D

Carlos A. Is awesome. Me and my wife had a great time. He speak good English. He knows the history of Acapulco. I would recommend Carlos.
Donovan R
Our driver was excellent. Our guide was conversant and we visited the Chapel Of Peace, the Flamingo Hotel, and saw the La Quebrada Cliff Divers. The stop at the downtown 'market' was not great; very cheap merchandise and limited selections. A different marketplace would have been much better. Had to pay admission to go down to the viewing place for the cliff diving. Mario was a fair guide. A visit to the Cathedral downtown would have been a nice stop. Overall, it was an okay day.

The family who donated this chapel clearly wanted it to be a gift to the world, and it feels like a peaceful oasis. Plus, the ticket price includes admission, so you don’t have to worry about extra costs.

From the top, the views are spectacular and great for photos—definitely a highlight for anyone wanting a memorable picture of their trip. It’s a relatively short stop, about 30 minutes, but it’s enough time to soak in the scenery and hear some stories from your guide.

Exploring Local Art at Mercado de Artesanías

Next up, your guide will take you to Mercado de Artesanías, a vibrant spot where local artisans sell jewelry, textiles, and souvenirs. This stop is a great opportunity to pick up authentic keepsakes or just enjoy observing the craftsmanship. The tour includes a visit to a silver factory, which is particularly interesting if you’re into jewelry or craftsmanship.

While some reviews mention that the market might be a bit touristy or small, most agree that it’s a worthwhile stop to see local art and perhaps find a special gift. The 30-minute duration keeps things relaxed, and your guide can help you understand the significance of the crafts you see.

Darren W
Excursion was organised well. Visited all the places on itinerary. The ‘flea market’ a small set of stores selling to tourists. Lucky enough to be the only two people in the tour so a private tour in effect. Guide was nice.
AnaPaola R
Excellent service. The guide (born and raised in Acapulco) makes your journey so entertaining by explaining the history of the city. You visit the main POI of Acapulco.
Michael C
Was a good tour where we saw most of the main sights and a lot of good viewing points. The bay is beautiful of course. The church with the big cross that you can see from everywhere and the diving were particularly good. Carlos is very helpful with other tips about what to do and where to eat. The margaritas were very welcome.

The Iconic La Quebrada Cliff Divers

No trip to Acapulco is complete without witnessing the famous cliff divers at La Quebrada. Watching these daredevils sail down the cliffs and plunge into the sea is genuinely captivating. We loved the way this stop captures the essence of Acapulco’s daring spirit, and it’s a spectacle that shouldn’t be missed.

Your guide will give you background on the divers and the history of this tradition, which dates back decades. The show lasts around 30 minutes, and it’s a fantastic photo opportunity. Keep in mind that the timing can vary slightly depending on the day’s schedule, but generally, you’ll get to see the divers in action.

Visiting Los Flamingos Hotel: A Piece of Hollywood History

Another highlight is the visit to the Los Flamingos Hotel, a place with Hollywood connections—Johnny Weissmuller, the Tarzan actor, and John Wayne are among the stars who stayed here in the 50s. We found this stop particularly charming as it offers a peek into old Hollywood glamour mixed with the local charm of Acapulco.

The tour allows about 30 minutes here, giving you enough time to walk around the grounds, take photos, and learn some fascinating stories about its history. If you’re into classic Hollywood or hotel architecture, this stop is likely to appeal.

Carlos, “Mr. Happiness,” will share with you intimate and humorous details about the city where he was born and raised and dearly loves. An excellent tour. He spoke good English. Went to the highest place in the city at the church. He was knowledgable about the history too.

Some travelers appreciate the flexibility, as in one case where they got a private tour, making for a more tailored experience. Others mention the convenience of the pickup service, which takes away the stress of navigating public transport or finding meeting points.

Value for Money

Given the price point, this tour offers a balanced mix of sightseeing, local culture, and scenic views. With all entry fees, a guide, and transportation included, it's a cost-effective way to get a broad overview of Acapulco, especially if you’re short on time but still want to see the main sights.

However, it’s not a full-day adventure—lunch isn’t included, so plan accordingly if you’re hungry. The focus is on sightseeing and cultural highlights, so if you’re after a laid-back experience with some adventure and history, this tour hits the mark.
