You’ll be picked up early in the morning at your hotel in Istanbul, usually around 6:30 am. The air-conditioned coach whisks you away on a roughly 6-hour drive (the drive is mentioned as 3 hours by some reviews, but others report it taking longer, up to 6 hours, depending on traffic and stops). The long ride can be tiring, but it’s worth it for the historic sites awaiting you.

Excelllent two days. Gallipoli has so much information and Troy is getting better all the time especially once the museum opens in September
marion
The tour to Gallipoli was very good, unfortunately some of the monuments were being renovated which was disappointing however it didn't detract from the whole thing. The guide was very informative. My accommodation for the night was 5 star all the way, meals were delicious and the service of all was great. The 2nd tour to Troy was also very informative however very rushed. I was ok because I had 2 days but it is a long bus ride from Istanbul and the Troy tour was over in less than 2 hours. Our guide hurried us through with only time for quick photos, yet we had spare time at the end. Time which could have been used to take more in as we walked through the town. It was very hot and I felt t…

The two-day tour was excellent value for money with experienced and knowledgeable guides and professional and courteous service in every way. Thank you for the experience.

Once you arrive at Gallipoli, you’ll explore key locations like ANZAC Cove, where Australian and New Zealand troops landed during WWI, and iconic memorials such as The Nek, Johnston’s Jolly, Lone Pine, and Chunuk Bair. These sites are deeply emotional and significant, representing some of the bloodiest battles of WWI.

Guided commentary enhances your understanding of the battles, the terrain, and the stories behind each site. Many reviews highlight the guides’ expertise and their ability to provide context that makes these places come alive. One reviewer said, “The tour guides were amazing as was the areas visited. So interesting.”

After visiting Gallipoli, you’ll head to Çanakkale for dinner, which is included, and stay overnight at a luxurious 5-star hotel. The hotel is generally well-received, though some note the rooms can be quite small, but the comfort and amenities make up for it.

Day 2: Exploring Troy & Returning to Istanbul

Breakfast at the hotel starts your day, followed by a trip to the UNESCO-listed site of ancient Troy. It’s about a 30-minute drive and offers an intriguing glimpse into legendary history. Your guide will walk you through the crumbled city walls, ancient relics, and the replica wooden horse, which is a must-see for any history enthusiast.

tour company and the guide was exceptionally professional. I was the only customer for that day they still run the tour. Very done
Rebecca
I really enjoyed this tour, and we had a good amount of time at Gallipoli. This was a very moving place. Our guide even helped me to find my relatives names on the memorial. The trip to Troy was very interesting and informative. I'm glad I chose the 2 day trip – it is quite a drive from Istanbul.
Stuart
My trip was more then i could of expected pick ups and transfers were on time. The Hotel facility was amazing and our tours to Galipolli and Troy lived up to all expectations. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgable.

The Troy Museum, included in the tour, provides additional context about the archaeological findings and the ongoing story of Troy. Visitors often find this part especially engaging, appreciating the mix of ruins and stories behind them.

After touring Troy, you’ll have some free time in Çanakkale for lunch (not included), before heading back to Istanbul in the late afternoon or early evening. The return journey mirrors the outbound trip — about 6 hours on the coach, with some reviews mentioning it can be a long haul, but the comfort of the transport and the scenic views help pass the time.

At $465 per person, the tour offers a lot in terms of value: guided visits to iconic sites, overnight hotel, three meals, and round-trip transport. The reviews suggest that most travelers feel they received good value, especially considering the depth of the sites visited and the personal attention from guides.

This tour was excellent, we got to see a lot more than anticipated. The tour collected us right on time, there was 8 of us on the tour all Aussies, we all had a great 2 days. We changed hotels when we returned to Istanbul, they were able to drop us at the new hotel at the airport, with no problems. We can recommend this company 110, the hotel was great, the food included in the tour was good as well.
phil.borrie
Great trip and the only easy way to see Gallipoli. Good guides ,food and accommodation. picked us up from our small apartment in a tiny street and dropped us back.
Paul
I was not expecting to see quite so much. Gallipoli was very comprehensively covered and very moving. There is so much more to Troy than I thought there would be. You need a bit of patience because the logistics are quite complicated. Take the boat trip but avoid the Kolin hotel, very poor forr a five star.

However, be prepared for the long hours on the coach and the early start. If you prefer a more relaxed pace or shorter travel days, this might not be your ideal experience. Some reviews mention the drive can be frustrating, with one reviewer noting it turned into a six-hour trip rather than three, due to slow driving.

The Experience of the Sites

Gallipoli is undoubtedly the emotional highlight of the trip. Standing at ANZAC Cove, you can’t help but reflect on the history and sacrifice. The memorials and battle sites are laid out thoughtfully, allowing you to connect with the stories behind the names and the terrain.

Troy offers a different kind of awe. Walking through the ruins of a city believed to have been a focal point of legendary warfare, you get a tangible sense of history. The replica wood horse is a fun photo opportunity, and the Troy Museum adds depth with its exhibits.

One reviewer shared, “Gallipoli has so much information and is very moving,” while another noted, “There is so much more to Troy than I thought.” These comments suggest that, with the right guide, you’ll leave with a richer understanding of these sites.

jenny.morison
This tour was great, we also took a boat ride to Anzac Cove, a real highlight. Our accommodation was outstanding and tour guides fantastic.
Lynette
We only did one day of the tour as we wanted to see the Grand Bazaar rather than Troy. What we did see at Gallipoli made the tour very worthwhile.
Leanne
Great guide, good hotel, highly recommend. Was meant to be a small tour but at Troy there were 22 of us. Nevertheless, it was informative and interesting.

Additional stops like Chunuk Bair and Johnston’s Jolly memorials give a comprehensive view of the Gallipoli campaign, and the boat ride to Anzac Cove (if you opt for it) adds an extra layer of experience, making the journey more immersive.
