If you’re after an adventure-packed highlight during your trip to New Zealand’s South Island, a jet boat ride on Queenstown’s famous rivers is hard to beat. This one-hour tour offers a perfect blend of adrenaline, jaw-dropping scenery, and expert guidance.

Designed for thrill-seekers and scenery lovers alike, it’s the kind of experience that gets your heart racing while showing you some of the most iconic landscapes around Queenstown.

What we love about this ride is how it combines high-speed excitement with spectacular views; you’ll be racing across Lake Wakatipu, then twisting your way through the Shotover and Kawarau rivers. The other big plus? It’s operated by a Kiwi-owned company that emphasizes safety and genuine local expertise.

Mike
Our pilot, Puni, was excellent. We had a fantastic time, it was fabulous. It was windy the day we went which made it even more exhilarating. Pure adrenaline! Still smiling at the memory six hours later!
Nigel
A fantastic ride. We were fortunate enough to be sat in the front row. Sam was a great driver and real fun to talk with explaining what why a how all he was doing. Would recommend to everyone. Thanks
Paul
Driver only did 360*'s in one direction so I was on the back seat on the right and got soaked every time. Have them do their 360*'s in both directions so everyone gets wet. Face shields to rent might be a cool idea so spray isn't in your face all the time and you would enjoy the ride more. Just an idea. Other than that it was fantastic!!!!!

On the flip side, a possible consideration is that it’s only an hour long—so if you’re craving a longer adventure, this might feel a bit brief. It’s best suited for those who want a fast, fun adrenaline hit with plenty of photo opportunities and lively guides.

This experience will suit adventure lovers and scenic enthusiasts who want a safe but exhilarating way to see Queenstown’s waterways. You don’t need prior experience, and even if you’re traveling with kids over 2 years old (who can fit into the smallest life jacket), it’s accessible. Just prepare for weather conditions and remember, it’s a wet ride—so packing appropriate gear is key.
