If you’re looking to explore the Blue Mountains outside the usual busy crowds, this Late Start Tour with Walks & Wildlife from Sydney might just be what you need. Designed for those who appreciate a more relaxed pace and personal experience, it offers a blend of breathtaking scenery, native wildlife, and authentic Australian nature—minus the typical tourist hustle.

What really catches our eye about this tour are the small group size—max 11 guests—which means you get personalized attention and a more intimate experience. Plus, the late start helps you avoid the rush, especially the busy afternoon crowds at iconic spots like the Three Sisters.

Of course, no tour is perfect for everyone; the itinerary is quite full, and it’s geared toward active travelers who are comfortable with some walking and a little outdoor adventure.

Had a great time. Melanie was an excellent guide (and driver)! The tour itinerary was unique when compared with the typical Blue Mountain tours and worth the price. Also appreciated the late start time and the small group size. The hikes were beautiful, at times a bit strenuous but not beyond the abilities of a 75 year old in reasonably good shape. Very happy with this tour!
Robert
Great experience pleased with our guide Daniele. Loved every minute
Melissa
Mel was amazing so friendly and knowledgeable about Sydney. The hiking and views were great

It’s especially ideal for those who want a genuine, crowd-free look at the Blue Mountains rather than a big bus tour with theme parks or heavily commercialized stops.

One thing to keep in mind is that children under 15 aren’t permitted on the main tour for safety reasons—though the private options do welcome young families. And, as always with outdoor adventures, weather can influence the day, so a flexible outlook is helpful. Overall, if you love nature, wildlife, and scenic views but prefer a calmer, more personal journey, this tour could be a great fit.

Had a fantastic day – pick-up was right on time and every stop on the journey was great, from seeing the animals at a nature reserve to the stunning scenery of the Blue Mountains. There's a stop for a traditional Australian pie along the way and a lovely Italian meal to finish the day. A lot of distance was covered but the various stops were well spaced out and there was plenty of time at each location. Melanie was everything you could want from a tour guide – fun, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, the tour was made even more enjoyable by having Mel at the wheel. Thank you for a great day!
Amanda
A prompt pick up by Terry in a very comfortable van. There were only 4 of us in total (including Terry) so no waiting around at our planned stops which included a farm (we saw wallabies, kangaroos, a koala, kookaburras and more) then lunch (a tasty gluten free pie) and then on to the blue mountains. Spectacular views and sufficient history to make the walks really interesting. Very manageable terrain for most people with trainers and a very average level of fitness. The beauty of the mountains and the choice of venues was perfect with very few crowds (the 3 sisters viewpoint being the only exception). Very well timed with plenty of toilet and coffee stops. Lovely dinner on the way back to Sy…

We had the most amazing day filled with spectacular views, delicious food, a cute koala, lots of kangaroos, and an extremely informative tour guide. We loved the small group, late start, and no screaming children. This tour was the highlight of our trip.
