Great trip – full day coach trip with regular stops, a good guide and a great driver. Slightly longer in a couple of places would have been better and a bit more freedom to wander and explore would have made the trip a bit better but overall a great experience and would recommend it.

Way too much time in the bus, at least 7 hrs for just 30 mins at Tiede and Masca. If anything Viators description of the trip is misleading. We stopped at 3 other places briefly we had minimal interest in. Guide spoke / lectured us way too much in multiple languages and was a little rude a number of times. Told no hotel pick up just the day before. Confusion on which bus we were allocated to. 3 stars out of 5 is very generous

One thing to keep in mind is that the schedule can feel a bit rushed, especially at some stops. As some travelers have pointed out, the tight timing might leave you wishing for longer at certain spots, particularly if you want to take in the views or explore at your own pace. Also, the lunch is not included, so bringing your own snacks or being prepared for a quick meal might be a good idea.

This tour suits those who enjoy scenic drives, geological wonders, and picturesque villages. If you prefer slow-paced sightseeing or traveling with young children, some aspects might not be ideal. But for anyone wanting a packed, scenic day with a guide, it’s a solid choice.

Be prepared for long day, but totally worth it! Tip: At the beginning of the day when you are all waiting for various tour buses to arrive, ensure you ask each bus if your name is on their list! It's easy to see how someone can be left behind if you don't ask each bus that arrives. Great tour, full day with incredible scenery. Enjoyed it all! Teide and Masca were definitely the highlights of the day. The mountain drive to Masca was intense, but the bus drivers do an amazing job. Quite the experience! Wish there was more time to explore Masca, but appreciate the opportunity to visit this little village with the ultimate Jurassic park mountain views! Our tour guide Tony did an amazing job, a…

The tour offers a mobile ticket, meaning you can present your booking on your device, and pickup is available from your hotel, which makes starting the day a breeze. Just remember, this tour doesn’t pick up from rural villages or cruise ship ports, so plan your meeting point accordingly.

The Itinerary – Breaking Down the Highlights

Pickup and Starting Point

Most travelers are picked up from their Tenerife hotels in an air-conditioned coach. The process can get a little hectic, especially with multiple buses at the same time, but your guide will try to coordinate the group efficiently. Some reviews mention initial confusion with pickups, so it’s wise to reconfirm your pickup time and location, especially if you’re in a busy hotel or area.

Valle de La Orotava (North Pickups Only)

For travelers coming from the north, the tour begins with a quick 20-minute stop in Valle de La Orotava. While brief, it offers a small taste of the lush northern landscape.

Vilaflor – One of Spain’s Highest Villages

South pickups will stop here for about 15 minutes. This small village, perched high in the mountains, gives you a chance to breathe in the mountain air and enjoy views from above. Time in Vilaflor is limited, but it’s enough to see the quaint streets and maybe snap a few photos.

Packed bus hitting the highlights of the island. Stopped and a reasonable place for a non included lunch. Lots of switchbacks to and from Masca handled easily by our expert driver. Guide was very informative but she was always talking in english/spanish/italian which can get overwhelming.

Good tour. Our guide Andrea was very informative but spoke really really really fast and sometimes missed a bit because he spoke in three languages. He was very approachable and friendly so we could ask him anything. Scenery was absolutely amazing. A bus as big as ours (over 30 persons) was a bit dangerous as the roads across the mountains were very narrow and many cars had to back up to let us through. In saying that, the driver was excellent. Lunch was rustic and delicious. Length of tour was good. Hotel pick up made it very easy. Overall a good tour. Thank you

Amazing day trip, honestly I would give 6 stars if I could. Mount Teide and Masca Valley are absolutely beautiful, but what really made the day special were the people. Our tour guide Maria was brilliant! We actually felt like we were next to one of our favourite school teachers! So charismatic and full of interesting stories. And big respect to Yonathan, the driver — super calm and skilled on those mountain roads. Everything was well organised and stress-free. One of the best things we’ve done in Tenerife. 100% recommended!
Here's some more things to do in Tenerife

Los Roques de Garcia

A highlight for many, this walk-around of famous rock formations offers incredible scenery and photo ops. The rocks are shaped by volcanic activity and provide a dramatic backdrop with Mount Teide in the distance.

Teide National Park

The tour’s centerpiece is the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Teide National Park. You’ll see the Chiñero lava fields (notably from the 1906 eruption) and panoramic vistas across volcanic landscapes. Expect to spend around 5-20 minutes here, depending on the schedule. Some reviews mention that the time here is tight, but the scenery is mesmerizing.

Icod de los Vinos & the Dragon Tree

This stop features the legendary dragon tree, which is reputed to be over 1,000 years old. Standing 22 meters tall, it’s a great photo opportunity and offers a glimpse of Tenerife’s botanical history. The rustic village of Icod has a church and square, but most travelers spend around 30 minutes here.

Garachico & Natural Pools

Once the island’s main port, Garachico was devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1706. It’s now a charming town where you can stroll, admire lava-formed streets, or sit in the plaza. The natural pools are a popular photo spot, and the town offers a relaxed vibe that many travelers appreciate.

Good tour to see several places in the same day. Stops are sometimes too short, but the stops at Roques de Garcia, Guarachico, near el Drago and Masca village are all worth time and have amazing picturesque views.
Francesca S
The places we visited were all really interesting but the bus journey was very uncomfortable, the bus was fully packed when it arrived at pick up point and the only seats left were those at the back, really small space for five people, plus we had hot air coming out constantly on the back of the bus and we had to repeatedly ask the the driver to switch it off.
Sachin G
Firstly, kudos to the bus driver, who was excellent and handled the difficult turns very well. Although we spent quite a long time on the bus, the stunning views throughout the tour more than made up for it. However, we should have been warned about the strong winds at Mount Teide and the fact that some of the public toilets require payment. There also should have been more time to explore the Masca Valley. The food at the restaurant was good but quite expensive at €20 per person. The town where we ate, Icod de los Vinos, was home to the unique-looking Drago Tree, and the plants throughout the village were spectacular. I also recommend buying the almond cakes and the barraquito in Vilaflor…

Masca Village

Few stops on Tenerife evoke such a sense of isolation and beauty as Masca. This tiny mountain hamlet is perched on a hillside, with sweeping views down its gorge. You’ll have around 30 minutes here, enough to walk through the streets, take photos, and enjoy the serenity. It’s a favorite for many guests, thanks to its stunning setting.

Piscinas Naturales El Caleton

Finally, the tour visits the natural pools in Garachico, where the volcanic lava has created calm, natural basins great for a quick dip or relaxing stroll. The 40-minute stop allows for a leisurely look around or a sit in the town square, soaking in the atmosphere.

Traveling on a comfortable coach with a small group (max 32 travelers), you’ll get a mix of guided commentary and free time. The guide’s knowledge is frequently praised, with many reviews mentioning their expertise in geology, history, and local culture.

The drive itself, particularly over mountain roads, is described as thrilling — some reviews call it “hair-raising,” but confidently handled by skilled drivers.

Arash J
For me was the fantastic experience and all of things be one time and enough. The price could be a little low
Alison S
The national park was fantastic, but all the other stops were in villages where there was little to see or do
Anil B
This is the only available land tour in tenerife in my view. this is a great tour with natural sightseeing.

The stops themselves are designed to be quick but impactful. You’ll see spectacular landscapes, ancient trees, and traditional villages that give a taste of Tenerife’s diverse character. The scenery is outstanding — expect sweeping views, volcanic formations, and lush greenery. We loved the way the guide shared stories and insights, making the landscapes come alive.

Meals are on your own, but some travelers recommend bringing snacks or lunch, especially since the included or nearby options might not suit everyone's taste. The tour doesn’t include a cable car ride, so if reaching the summit of Mount Teide is your goal, you’ll need a separate ticket.

Timing and Pacing

Reviewers note that the day can feel long and busy, with many stops in rapid succession. If you're someone who likes to linger or take detailed photos, be prepared for a tightly scheduled day. Conversely, if you prefer fast-paced sightseeing with lots of highlights, this tour hits the mark.

Value for Money

At just over $59, the tour offers an impressive amount of scenery, expert guidance, and convenience with hotel pickup. Many reviews highlight how reasonable the price is considering the breadth of locations visited. The mix of natural wonders and cultural insights makes it a good deal, especially for first-time visitors wanting a rundown.
