If you’re considering a day tour to explore Tenerife’s most captivating natural spots, the Tenerife Wonder Walk could be just what you’re after. While I haven’t personally taken this tour, reviews and detailed descriptions paint a pretty appealing picture. It’s designed for those who want a balanced mix of volcanic landscapes, lush forests, and a taste of local history—all in one day.
What makes this experience stand out are its well-rounded itinerary and the guides’ personalized touch. We especially appreciate that it’s a private tour, allowing for more flexibility and a tailored experience. A potential downside? The price is around $237 per person, which isn’t cheap, but for the depth of exploration and the inclusion of multiple highlights, many will find it offers good value.
This tour suits curious travelers who want to see Tenerife beyond its beaches, those interested in volcanic landscapes, nature, and cultural spots. If you’re a hiker, a photographer, or just enjoy learning about local history and flora, this could be a perfect fit.
Amazing adventure throughout some of the best locations around Tenerife. Victor is the only guide you’ll ever need. Not only is he very passionate and well prepared, he also tailors the experience around your needs and when the weather doesn’t allow to get the best experience in a location, he will come up with another spot that you can visit. It looks like going around with a friend that knows perfectly the beauties of the place in which he lives, and that takes amazing photos. Honestly, I don’t think you need a different guide from Victor, he is all you need in your adventure around Tenerife.
Victor was UH-MAZING! He picked us up from the Main Square which was super easy to find. He talked the whole time we were in the car. He taught us about the town, how it was developed, the nature, you name it he was able to say something about it. If he didnt know the answer, he even reached out to us after the tour and told us the answer. His driving was calm and chill, no worries there. He took us out in the pouring rain and was such a trooper hiking with us out there. He took us to a local spot to eat which was FANTASTIC. He even does photography, so he took pictures of us out in the field and sent them to us via Google docs. When he dropped us off, he even gave us Canary Island chocolate…
A great experience from start to finish with Victor. He’s a knowledgeable Tour Guide who customize his tours to the needs of his group and gives a very personal touch that is much appreciated. My kids and I had a great time with him exploring many of Tenerife’s natural wonders. One word of advice: if you’d like to do things that require tickets, such as the cable car to the top of the volcano or the lava tubes, make sure you coordinate with Victor in advance as these things can sell out. Lastly, an extra set of bonus points for Victor for being a great photographer and bringing his own camera along to capture photos of our adventures.

The Anaga Rural Park: A Fairy Tale Forest
Your adventure begins in Parque Rural de Anaga, a rare subtropical wet forest filled with endemic flora and fauna. The landscape is lush, and the atmosphere feels almost enchanted, with moss-covered trees and ancient paths once trod by the Guanches—Tenerife’s original inhabitants. According to reviews, the scenery is mesmerizing, perfect for photos or just soaking in the tranquility.
Expect around three hours here, wandering along centuries-old trails. The admission is free, so the main focus is on the walk and taking in the surroundings. The guide’s knowledge helps you understand how this forest has remained a vital part of Tenerife’s ecological tapestry.
Reviewers love the way the guide personalizes the experience and points out interesting details about the flora and fauna—something that adds depth beyond just walking through a forest. Expect to slowly absorb the peaceful, storybook-like environment.
San Cristobal de La Laguna: A Step Back in Time
Next, the tour makes a stop in San Cristobal de La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first settlement where Spanish sailors established a foothold. This historic town is a visual feast of colonial architecture, cobbled streets, and vibrant neighborhoods.
You’ll have roughly two hours to explore, grab a bite, or simply wander. The town is acclaimed for its high-rating restaurants, making it a good chance to sample Canarian cuisine. It’s worth noting that, based on reviews, this stop offers a chance to relax and enjoy local flavors after more vigorous outdoor segments.
A wonderful walk with a super friendly tour guide. Victor provided us with really interesting information about the places we visited and also took beautiful photos of us !!
A great experience for hikers, photographers, culinary enthusiasts, or anyone seeking to explore the world beyond the sun and surf for which Tenerife is justly famous.
Had the most amazing day with Victor, he gave us a fantastic tour of the island and made adjustments to still provide a great outing despite the wildfires. He had so much knowledge of the area and knew some great spots lesser known to tourists. He also took us to an amazing restaurant for lunch which was truly a hidden gem. Victor also does photography and took some amazing pictures of my partner and me which he then shared with us only 2 days later. I couldn't recommend this highly enough !
Travelers highlight the town’s charm and the opportunity to see a more authentic side of Tenerife’s history. The guide can point out key sights, making this part both relaxing and educational.
Teide National Park: A Volcanic Wonderland
The crown jewel of the tour is Teide National Park, with its Martian-like landscapes and volcanoes. The scenery here is truly otherworldly—think vast, rocky deserts dotted with endemic plants. It’s a landscape that feels like you’ve been transported to another planet.
You’ll walk among volcanic formations and learn about how Tenerife’s volcanoes have shaped the island over millions of years. For many, this is the highlight of the day.
An optional visit to the Teide summit via cable car is available at an extra cost of around €40 per adult (covering ascent and descent). This is a fantastic option if you're up for a bit of a climb and want to see the highest point in Spain, at 3,700 meters. However, even without the cable car, the park itself offers plenty of striking views and photo opportunities.
One reviewer mentioned that the guide took care to offer alternatives due to wildfires, which shows good adaptability and concern for safety.
The Logistics: Transport and Timing

The tour is approximately eight hours long, with pickup included, making it an easy, hassle-free way to see the highlights without worrying about driving or planning logistics. The vehicle is air-conditioned, a welcome feature considering Tenerife’s warm climate.
Bottled water is provided, so hydration is taken care of during the day. Keep in mind that lunch isn’t included, so you might want to bring snacks or plan to grab a meal during the free time in La Laguna.
Timing-wise, the tour operates daily, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, giving plenty of flexibility to start your day. The tour's popularity suggests you should book around three weeks in advance if possible.
