If you’re thinking about adding a night under the stars to your Tenerife trip, this Teide National Park Stargazing Experience might just be what you’re looking for. From what we’ve seen and heard, this tour offers a chance to really connect with the cosmos—far away from city lights and distractions.

It’s a solid pick for anyone curious about astronomy, looking to experience the beauty of the night sky, or just wanting a memorable, peaceful evening on the island.

What really draws people in are two things: the use of professional telescopes that reveal planets and stars in stunning detail, and the guides who bring the night sky alive with stories and explanations. We also love how accessible it seems for all levels of interest and experience—whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or just someone who loves looking up.

Very informative and beautiful. I was hoping to see a planet or two but my timing wasn’t right for that. The drive up to the meeting point was breathtaking. It was cold during the presentation so make sure you take a warm jacket not just a sweatshirt. Would recommend!
Mariella A
My partner and I had a wonderful first time experience stargazing with Miguel and Adri! Super informative, we learned some fun facts, and saw a beautiful night sky. Would absolutely recommend, and would repeat.
Sabine L
Spectacular and great tour with very good explanations. The sky is not the limit, just our eyes. Anyone who loves the sky, should have seen this

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that it’s an outdoor activity at night, so dressing warmly is key—many reviews mention the cold as a consideration.

This tour is best suited for those who enjoy nature, are comfortable with a bit of chill, and want to learn something new about the universe. Families with children can enjoy it too, as long as the little ones are prepared for the cool night and the dark. If you’re after a relaxed, educational evening with a touch of magic, this experience might be perfect.

The Itinerary – What Happens During the Tour

Your experience begins with a naked-eye observation of the night sky. The guide, a professional astrophotographer and astronomer, explains the basics—constellations, planets, and interesting facts about the celestial bodies overhead. This part is great for folks who want to understand what they’re looking at, whether it’s the Milky Way or the North Star.

Mohsen S
Very responsible, knowladgable, on time crew. They explained a little bit of everything. From the galexy, to the stars, telescope and constellations. We highly recommand this tour.
Conor S
Very knowledgeable guide who was able to answer all our questions and give good explanation of what we could see.
Joel N
This is a really fun and easy way to experience a completely different side of Tenerife. Getting to the location is easy and the astronomers were very knowledgeable.

Then, the fun really begins with observing through powerful telescopes. You’ll get the chance to see planets like Saturn, with its rings, or Jupiter’s moons, which are always exciting to spot. You might also get a glimpse of star clusters, nebulae, or even distant galaxies. Many reviews highlight just how clear and close-up these views are.

One reviewer mentioned that Saturn was a highlight, and others enjoyed seeing the Moon and nebulae through the telescopes.

Additional Features That Make This Tour Special

One standout feature is the astrophotographic telescope, which allows you to capture stunning images of what you’re observing. This adds a nice touch for those wanting a keepsake of their night under the stars.

The group is kept small—max 20 people—which helps keep the atmosphere relaxed and ensures plenty of time for questions. The guides are praised for their knowledge and ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms. One reviewer said, “a very guide who was able to answer all our questions,” which makes a big difference for an educational outing like this.

I really enjoyed this experience, the only thing i would have done differently is to dress warmer. Overall I recommend this workshop to anyone curious about the night sky, right under the tip of the volcano the sky gets very clear and you can see the Milky Way with bare eyes. It’s extremely beautiful. If you are an amateur astronomer and have some knowledge of the night sky, maybe this tour will be too basic, but still worth it because of the unique observation spot

A truly amazing experience that left us and both of our teenage boys awed and inspired to learn more (which is extraordinary in itself)!!

The Experience’s Pros and Cons

Many people have raved about the quality of the explanations and the views—some called it “spectacular,” “incredible,” or “magical.” The guides’ enthusiasm and expertise clearly elevate the experience. Several reviews mention their responsiveness and ability to answer questions, which helps make the activity not just visually stunning but also educational.

However, the weather can be a limiting factor. Since the tour depends on clear skies, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the activity might be canceled. You’ll be offered a different date or a full refund if that happens. On top of that, the cold night temperatures at high altitude are a recurring theme; many reviewers recommend dressing warmly, especially if you’re sensitive to the chill.
