If you’re looking to add some adrenaline to your Cancun trip, the ATV Xtreme and Zipline Tour might catch your eye. It promises a full day packed with exciting activities like ATV riding through the jungle, soaring over treetops on ziplines, and cooling off in a stunning cenote for snorkeling.
While we haven’t personally done this tour, based on the reviews and details, it seems like a solid choice for adventure lovers or anyone wanting a more active day outside the usual beach scene.
What really caught our attention are the guides who seem to make a difference, and the scenic views that come with every stage of the tour. On the flip side, a longer bus ride — about two hours each way — is something to consider if you’re sensitive to long transport times. This tour is ideal if you’d like a full-day adventure that mixes fun, nature, and some physical activity.
Great experience zip lining and driving ATV. Cooling off in the soneta. Out guide was great and very attentive
My friends and I went on this excursion to celebrate my birthday. We had an amazing time with ziplining and ATV rides as first timers. Our tour guide Johnathan was amazing, he taught us alot about the native trees and animals in the area as well as keeping us safe throughout all the excursions. The food was wonderful as well. I would only make one suggestion which is being more clear in the schedule for the day in terms of how long the commute is to the actual excursion. It made it difficult to plan the rest of our day and we almost missed our dinner reservations. Besides that I would highly recommend.
Honestly I was a Little Skeptical on the Level of adventure and fun this tour would have, seeing it was a tourist activity. But was I wrong, the ziplining was the Start of our Tour, we had 7 towers to Walk though ,the stairs are part of the Fun as soon as you reach the top and Zip though the fresh air it makes it all Worth It !!! Then We did the Atv , I was a little Bummed out seeing all the large groups go ahead of us. The Guides do such a good Job of spacing out and timing everything that you dont even see the other groups on the ride . We were riding through twists and turn and ups and downs at a pretty fast pace. I recommend if you go in couples Get the double rider so you can experience…
It’s probably best suited for travelers who enjoy moderate physical activity and aren’t looking for a leisurely day.

ATV Ride Through the Jungle
Once there, you’ll get a quick safety briefing before hopping onto your ATV. You can opt for a one- or two-passenger ATV, depending on whether you’re riding solo or with a partner. The trails weave through lush forest, giving you a taste of real jungle terrain. The reviews often highlight how sturdy and spacious the ATVs are, making for a comfortable ride even if you’re a first-timer. We also noticed that the tour is suitable for those as young as 8 years old, but with a double rider arrangement if you’re bringing kids.
Ziplining Over the Canopy
Next up is the zipline circuit. Expect to soar over the treetops, taking in breathtaking views of the jungle. The course features about 7 towers, so you’ll have plenty of chances to enjoy the sensation of flying. Be prepared for some stairs at each platform — the reviews mention that the stairs are part of the fun, but it’s worth noting if stairs are an issue. Guides are attentive and often praised for their friendliness and expertise.
Cenote Snorkeling Adventure
The highlight for many is the cenote stop. You’ll walk through an opening in the jungle floor and descend into a limestone cavern that houses this crystal-clear freshwater sinkhole. Snorkeling gear is provided, and the reviews love how beautiful and unique the cenote is. Jessica described it as “amazing” and “awesome,” emphasizing the chance to see beneath the surface of the water. The cave’s natural formation makes it an atmospheric spot to cool off and appreciate nature’s artistry.
Lunch and Return
After the activities, you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. The reviews mention that the lunch is tasty, though vegetarians might find the options somewhat limited — a good idea to keep in mind if you have dietary restrictions. The tour wraps up with the return trip to your hotel in Cancun, usually around late afternoon, making it a full but rewarding day.
The activities were as described, and actually exceeded my expectations. The cenote cave was amazing and the zip lining was awesome! The ATV’s were sturdy and had plenty of space for double riders. My kids (13 and 17) had a blast. The lunch they served was very good. The restrooms were immaculate. Our guide, Leo, was amazing. He made us feel very safe and did his best to ensure we had an epic time. The only downside is we stayed in Costa Mujeres and the activity point is in Tulum so there are about 7 hours spent in the van, driving to and from the activity point, with multiple pick up and drop off spots along the way.
The activities and guide, Israel, were excellent. The only reason I gave this a 3 rather than 5 was the bus ride. From Cancun we were in the bus for over 5 hours total and it was packed full with little to no air conditioning. It was almost intolerable. Everyone on agreed. The bus driver provided no explanation and didn’t seem to care.
Great tour, there was 2 hour drive from our hotel in Rivera maya, we were picked up by a mini van, there was an orientation session in the beginning, ATV was a lot of fun, there was plenty of time to ride ATVs, we bought the optional $15 collision insurance and they recommended it , zip line was safe and fun, you should do the Superman and Canopy rides, food was simple and good, nothing special but after a lot of activities in the middle of a jungle, it is a good break, bathrooms were clean, Cenote swimming was good, it was not a big cenote but it was a good experience, our tour guide was great. I highly recommend this tour. We left around 8 AM and came back 4 PM and still had energy and tim…

- Transportation in an air-conditioned minivan
- Guided activities with professional guides
Extras to consider:

From the reviews, the guides are often highlighted as a big plus, with one called Israel receiving specific praise. The knowledge and attentiveness of guides seem to elevate the experience, making even beginners feel comfortable.
Transport and Timing
The tour begins early at 7:00 am, which is great if you want to maximize your day. The drive from Cancun takes about two hours each way, so be prepared for that. The bus ride was a point of complaint for some, especially those who found the bus crowded and not well-ventilated, but overall, it’s manageable given the full-day itinerary.
Who will enjoy this tour?
This experience is great for active travelers who enjoy outdoor pursuits and are comfortable with moderate physical activity. The activities don't require advanced skills, but you'll need basic swimming ability for snorkeling and physical stamina for climbing stairs and riding ATVs. Authentic Traveler Feedback

We love hearing from reviews to get an honest glimpse of what to expect. Several travelers praised the guides for their friendliness and expertise, noting that they learned about native trees and animals, which added an educational touch. Others highlighted the "stunning views" and the "beautiful cave" as standouts.
A reviewer mentioned, "The activities and guide, Israel, were excellent," while another said, "The cenote was beautiful, and the ziplining was cool." These comments suggest that the natural scenery and guided commentary create a memorable experience.
However, not all feedback was glowing. One review pointed out that the bus ride was long and uncomfortable, which could be a consideration if you’re sensitive to lengthy travel. Still, most agree that the activities themselves are fun and worth the trip.
Final Thoughts: Is This Tour Right for You?

If you’re craving an active, engaging day outside of the typical Cancun beach scene, this tour offers a well-rounded dose of adventure. The combination of ATV riding, ziplining, and snorkeling in a cenote provides variety and plenty of photo opportunities. The guided format ensures safety and local insights, making it suitable even for first-timers.
It’s a good choice for those who appreciate scenic views, enjoy physical activities, and want a taste of the jungle’s beauty. The price is reasonable considering the full-day experience and included meals, especially with the convenience of hotel pickup.
That said, if you’re not comfortable with stairs, long bus rides, or moderate physical exertion, you might want to consider other options or prepare accordingly. Remember, the tour is capped at 14 participants, which means more personalized attention — a plus for many.
