It’s a full-day adventure that takes you from the famous Blarney Castle to the colorful streets of Kinsale, with a stop in Cobh to soak up maritime history— all with a personal guide at your side.
What really draws people in are the customizable itinerary and the luxury transportation. Derek was awesome! Very knowledgeable and easy to understand. Very funny as well! Would highly recommend this tour and if you get him you will have a wonderful time!
Derek was wonderful. Waiting for us at the cruise terminal, flexible and helpful when we wanted to change our tour itinerary, and exceptionally knowledgeable/friendly. We travel a lot. This was simply our best experience with a tour guide.
I couldn’t begin to express the amount of gratitude and satisfaction with our tour today with Derek. He went above and beyond in every way possible to honor my dad on Father’s Day and tailored the trip to what we wanted plus many many additions. Trust him and you will get an amazing experience. What a phenomenal guide. Takes real pride and care into planning and executing the day. So so grateful. You won’t be disappointed if you book this tour. It maximizes your time in the Cork area and you can just focus on enjoying the moments.
One thing to keep in mind: the price is $745.16 for up to four people, which might seem steep but often makes sense when you consider private transport and the flexibility you get. It’s ideal for travelers who want comfort, a personal touch, and in-depth local knowledge.
If you’re traveling with a small group, family, or even a couple wanting a special day, this could be completely worth it. If you prefer large group tours or are on a tight budget, it’s worth weighing the cost carefully.

The Itinerary in Detail

Stop 1: Cobh Heritage Centre – The Queenstown Story
The tour kicks off in Cobh, a town steeped in maritime history. If you’re arriving via cruise, the guide will meet you at your ship or hotel. The Cobh Heritage Centre offers a glance into Ireland’s coastal past—especially its connection to the Titanic. This stop usually lasts about an hour and is a good intro to the area’s importance in Irish and shipping history.
Stop 2: Blarney Castle & Gardens
Next, you’ll head to the legendary Blarney Castle, one of Ireland’s most famed landmarks. The castle itself is a well-preserved tower house, and the chance to kiss the Blarney Stone is a big draw. As many reviews mention, the gardens surrounding the castle are sprawling and beautifully maintained, with over 60 acres covered in various themed gardens, waterways, and arboretums.
What a lovely experience and highly highly recommend! Derek was so knowledgeable and passionate about his country and even went out of his way to show us the gems you wouldn’t otherwise see on your own. We were there for 9/11 and he took us to the memorial garden that was erected for the fallen firefighters. It was beautiful. So if ever you see yourself headed to Ireland, I would definitely consider this, was the best decision we did to see the area. Thanks Derek!
Derek met us at the pier and was parked about 50 feet away. How nice! He drove us all over Cobh and to Blarney Castle, the woolen mills and to Kinsale. During the drive, we had great views of the Irish countryside and wonderful commentary about everything we saw and a brief history of Ireland. I would definetly recommend using his services!
Our tour guide and driver, Derek, met us at the port of Cobh. Unfortunately the weather was against us and the rain was pouring down. He therefore advised us to go to Kinsale first in the hope the weather would brighten up. We had morning tea with scones in The Blue Haven (delicious) and the made our way to the dramatic coastline to experience beautiful scenery. We visited the Lusitania Museum and Old Head Signal Tower which was very moving and gave us time to reflect and remember with respect those lives lost and changed by such an awful event. Ringfinnan Garden of Remembrance a place to remember 343 firefighters perished in 9/11 was our next stop – very quiet, overwhelming and beautiful. T…
Visitors can expect to spend roughly two hours here, giving enough time to explore the castle grounds, snap photos, and maybe muster up the nerve to lean back and kiss the stone. Keep in mind, admission to the castle and gardens isn’t included in the tour price, so you’ll need to purchase tickets separately if you want to go inside.
Stop 3: Blarney Woollen Mills
Just a short drive from the castle, the Blarney Woollen Mills offers a chance to browse authentic Irish crafts, clothing, and souvenirs. It’s a family-run business since 1823, known for its high-quality Irish design and friendly service. You can take a break here, enjoy a drink or snack, and pick up some unique gifts—an excellent opportunity to support local artisans.
Stop 4: Kinsale
Kinsale’s colorful streets are a highlight for many travelers. Famous for its picturesque waterfront, medieval influences, and lively atmosphere, the town has a charm that really comes alive with its vibrant buildings and bustling harbor. The guide often recommends spending about two hours here, giving you ample time to stroll, enjoy the scenery, and maybe visit a boutique or two. It’s especially popular among those who love photography and picturesque towns.
Stop 5: Cobh Revisit & Final Stop
On the way back or at the end of the day, your guide will take you back to Cobh or your hotel. Here, you can explore the cathedral or walk along the deck of card houses—another quirky local feature. If you’re a history buff or just want a relaxed end to your day, this stop is perfect. The whole experience typically wraps up after about an hour.
