It was awesome to see a sea turtle. We saw many fish and some coral as well. My older kids loved it! (10 and 12) my youngest- it was a little much for her (7). I don’t blame this on the tour. The guide was very helpful and accommodating.

Super incredible guides and instructors. I wasn't a very confident swimmer when booking the tour but I did so as a way to face my fears (no, I never claimed to be smart.) The guides were very patient with me and very supportive. They are all wonderful people who make sure your safety and enjoyment as their ultimate priority. We saw so many cool things on the tour. I unfortunately started to feel ill towards the end, but they helped me get back to the boat very quickly and did what they could to help me feel better. Our first date got cancelled due to forecast calling for bad weather but upon calling them, we got it rescheduled no problem. So long as you stay in contact with them and be kind,…

One thing to keep in mind is that the tour involves several stops, which means you should be comfortable with snorkeling around different sites, and it’s advisable to have your own underwater camera if you’re keen on capturing every moment.

A possible consideration is the additional reef conservation fee of $20 per person, payable at check-in, which can feel like an unexpected extra. Also, some reviews mention logistical hiccups like poor communication around schedule changes.

Still, many find the value for what you get—multiple snorkeling spots, professional guides, and a well-rounded experience—definitely worth it for marine lovers or those wanting a mix of adventure and scenery.

This tour will suit adventurers, nature lovers, and curious travelers eager to see diverse underwater sights while enjoying a manageable group size. If you’re okay with a moderate price point and eager to explore some of Cancun’s top snorkeling spots, it’s a solid choice.

Highlighting the Itinerary

The tour kicks off with a visit to Museo Subacuatico de Arte (MUSA), an underwater art museum created by British sculptor Jason De Caires Taylor and Mexican artists. This stop isn’t just about seeing art—it’s part of a conservation effort to protect the Caribbean’s marine ecosystems. You’ll snorkel among over 500 sculptures, including two massive underwater statues and two art galleries, “The Blessings” and “Aquarium Family.” Many reviews mention how breathtaking this part is, describing it as “an unforgettable underwater art walk.” It’s a blend of culture and nature that offers a unique perspective on the ocean.

Next, you’ll head to the El Meco coral reef, a vibrant habitat teeming with marine life. Expect to see sea turtles, with an impressive 96-98% chance of spotting 1-5 turtles according to some reviews. Many guests report seeing rays and a variety of fish, thanks to the reef’s healthy, colorful corals. The reef provides a lively, natural environment that makes you feel like you’re floating in a giant, open aquario.

This was a great excursion. We were picked up at the hotel on time without any fuss. Once at the port, we were given equipment and had a little test run at the harbour. The team then took us out to visit a cenote, underwater museum, sea turtles and a shipwreck, all as described. The guide Carlos was great showing us around and explaining. My partner is not a very confident swimmer in open waters and Carlos let her hold onto a lifebuoy while he pulled it, which made the experienceso much better for her. We got to see so many turtles! The captain Fernando was very friendly and helpful as well. All in all this is a tour I can highly recommend.

Oh my gosh this was the best snorkeling experience I have ever been on!!! I’m sure a lot of it was luck but we saw 6 sea turtles! The underwater museum installation was very cool. Our guide Pili was incredible and our pictures turned out amazing. Thank you so much!!

First 3 spots were pretty cool, the last stop for senotes could have been skipped. The guide was very good.

Following that, the tour introduces a shipwreck, one of the most engaging sites for snorkelers. Surrounded by clear waters and white sands, it’s like swimming in a giant natural pool. Reviewers rave about the shipwreck, calling it “fantastic,” and it’s often the highlight for guests craving a more adventurous or cinematic backdrop. The shallow depths and calm waters make it accessible for many, even if you’re still learning to snorkel.

Lastly, the tour includes a visit to a cenote, a natural sinkhole filled with fresh water. Some reviews mention how “the cenote was a wonder,” providing a different kind of underwater scenery—less about marine life and more about geological beauty. This diversity makes the tour versatile and engaging.

What You Can Expect

The tour lasts roughly 4 hours, including transport, snorkeling, and time at each site. You'll be picked up from your hotel in Cancun, with a vehicle taking you to the marina, which helps avoid the hassle of organizing transport yourself. The boat ride is comfortable and designed for a small group—max 20 people—so it feels intimate without being crowded.

Once on the boat, your guides will give a brief safety and instruction session. Many guests note that the guides are helpful, patient, and very knowledgeable—crucial when snorkeling in multiple spots with different conditions. The full gear—mask, snorkel, fins, life vest, and weights—is provided, so you're ready to go as soon as you arrive.

The stops are well-paced, with plenty of time to enjoy each site. The underwater museum, coral reef, shipwreck, and cenote each offer distinct visual and sensory experiences, making this a well-rounded tour for anyone interested in underwater scenery.

Authentic Guest Insights

From the reviews, it’s clear that guides and staff make a big difference. One guest praised the staff as “very helpful,” and another called the guide “excellent,” especially noting how they helped those who were nervous or less confident in the water. Several reviews mention that the guides took care of everyone, including people with different swimming abilities.

The underwater museum gets particular praise, with guests describing it as “amazing” and “a must-do.” Seeing the sculptures and marine life at the same time makes for incredible photo opportunities, a point reinforced by reviews mentioning professional photographs taken during the trip. The photos are an extra cost, but many find them worth it for the memories.

Price and Value

At around $70 per person, this tour provides access to four snorkeling sites, full gear, guides, and transport, which many consider good value. The multiple stops ensure you’re not just spending a quick moment in the water but rather enjoying a variety of underwater environments. The inclusion of the museum and shipwreck adds cultural and adventure elements, making it more than just a typical snorkeling trip.

Some reviews highlight the optional photo service, which costs about $80 USD for the whole group. While that’s an extra, many guests say it’s worth it to have high-quality, professional images of their underwater moments.

A minor extra is the $20 reef conservation fee, payable at check-in. While it’s an additional cost, it supports the preservation of the marine environment you’re exploring, which many travelers appreciate.

  • A waterproof camera or underwater phone case is a good idea if you want photos beyond the professional ones offered.
  • Be aware that schedule changes could occur; some reviews mention delays or rescheduling, so keep an eye on communication from the operator.
