What we really appreciate about this trip is how it balances stunning scenery with informative guides and a delicious seafood lunch. Plus, the carefully curated stops help you get a real feel for both the coastal environment and the charming towns nearby.

It is a long day. I was picked up at 0410 and arrived back at 1745. That said, the day was filled in with plenty of variety and a great guide

It was a beautiful trip. Our guide Gabriel told use stories about the spots we were passing, have us good recommendations and he was so kind. We translated everything always in English and Spanish. I was 15 minutes late at pick up time but Gabriel waited for me and didn’t leave though they only give a 5 minute grace period. I’m so grateful and he gave us plenty time for each activity though I would have wished to spend more time in todo santos.

Manny was our tour operator. He was very knowledgeable about places we were passing and visiting. We enjoyed the beaches, lunch in La Paz and going to todos santos to see Hotel California. all in all a great tour.

This tour suits travelers who enjoy a mix of nature, history, and local culture, especially if you’re comfortable with early mornings and a packed schedule. It’s also a good pick for those who want a guided experience that minimizes planning but still allows free time for exploration.

Overview and What Sets It Apart

This full-day tour runs roughly 12 to 13 hours, starting early at 5:00 am, and offering a chance to explore some of Baja’s most beautiful spots in a single trip. It’s designed for those who want a structured, guided experience that covers the essentials without the hassle of planning.

The trip is priced at around $123 per person, which, considering the included activities, meals, and transportation, is quite reasonable. It also boasts a high recommendation rate of 93%, suggesting many travelers find the experience worthwhile.

Transportation: Comfort and Group Size

The tour is limited to 12 travelers, keeping the group intimate enough to enjoy personalized attention. The transportation is round trip, with a pickup offered from San Jose del Cabo — a convenient perk for those staying nearby.

One common point from reviews is the vehicle’s comfort. Some travelers noted the van was quite basic and not very comfortable for the long drive, recommending bringing extra cushions or being prepared for a less plush ride. This isn’t a luxury coach, but it does keep the group connected during the trip.

The Itinerary: Breakdowns and Highlights

Balandra Beach (2 hours)

This is the star of the trip for many. Balandra is often praised for its crystal-clear waters and tranquil vibe. It’s a nature reserve, so don’t expect full beach amenities, but the natural beauty more than makes up for that.

It was a shuttle ride to the areas, not really a tour and everyone else spoke Spanish with very little English although I requested a English speaking tour guide( he did provide some directions re what time to retun to the shuttle sometimes

Good day trip! Bring water shoes for your stop at Balandra beach if you want to walk over to the mushroom through the ocean. Rocky with sting rays and jelly fish. The second stop could have been shorter – not a lot to do unless you’re drinking at 10 am. La Paz was great. Lunch was delicious, but a view would have been nice for our one day in La Paz. Tour company needs make sure all seat belts are working. I know Mexico is more relaxed, but it’s a very long drive. Nice to feel safe. 🙂

Excellent experience visiting Balandra beach, with crystal clear water and schools of fish swimming around you, vibrant city of La Paz with its miles-long malecón and Coromuel beach, and the Magic Town of Todos Santos with the iconic Hotel California (even if the hotel itself was closed for renovations, there is access to most parts of the inner courtyard)!

Here, you'll have free time to relax, swim, or snap photos of the famous “Mushroom Rock.” Several reviews mention it being a must-see — “it did not disappoint,” said one traveler — though a few found it wasn't quite as “spectacular” as expected. Still, the calm waters and scenic surroundings make it perfect for a quick escape from the busy coast.

Playa El Coromuel (1 hour)

A more relaxed stop, this beach offers a chance for quick swimming and enjoying the ocean without the crowds. It’s a free, short stop, giving you a taste of Baja’s coastal charm.

Lunch at Mariscos El Paraje (1 hour)

The included seafood lunch is a highlight, especially if you love fresh Baja seafood. The restaurant is renowned locally, and you’ll get to taste regional dishes that reflect Baja’s culinary identity. Many reviews rave about the delicious, fresh seafood and the friendly service. It’s a good break after the beach visits and a chance to fuel up for the rest of the day.

La Paz Malecón (1.5 hours)

The Malecón in La Paz is a charming waterfront walkway lined with local businesses, sculptures, and lovely views. It’s a great place to stroll, soak in the atmosphere, and learn about the city’s architecture and history.

One reviewer enjoyed the guided narration about the area's points of interest. The Malecón offers some excellent photo opportunities, especially of the harbor and the iconic Puerto de Ilusión.

Hotel California (20 minutes)

A quick stop at this famous hotel gives you a chance to snap photos and soak in its quirky, vintage vibe. It’s less about inside visits and more about the photo op and quick appreciation of its unique style.

Todos Santos and the Aztec Calendar (around 1 hour 15 minutes)

Todos Santos, declared a “Magic Town,” is full of charm, art, and history. The “wishing tree,” local crafts market, and other sights give a flavor of Baja’s artistic roots.

The Aztec Calendar monument adds a cultural touch, giving insight into the regional history and craftsmanship. Reviews highlight the authenticity of the market and the beauty of the town’s architecture.

Some travelers found the schedule tight, mentioning rushing through stops or feeling the day was too long. One reviewer suggested shortening the time at Balandra and adding more in Todos Santos, which could improve the overall experience.
