If you’re planning a trip to Malta and dreaming of turquoise waters, caves, and a laid-back vibe, a boat cruise to Comino’s Blue Lagoon might be just what you need. While we haven’t personally joined this tour, the glowing reviews and detailed descriptions paint quite a vivid picture of what to expect.
This experience is designed for those who love spending a day on the water—swimming, snorkeling, and soaking up the sun—while enjoying some fun extras like a waterslide and signature cocktails.
Two things that really catch our attention: the personal touch of a family-run boat—with Captain Kevin making everyone feel welcome—and the long, leisurely stop at Blue Lagoon, giving plenty of time to explore and relax.
I have nothing but positive things to say about this cruise! The crew was amazing and so friendly and we was even joined by the captains dog who was the best boy! We saw so many picturesque location on the way and spent about 4 hours at the blue lagoon itself. We spent about half the time swimming with our rented goggles, diving and seeing lots of sea life and using the slide many times! The other half lounging on the top deck on with a pineapple cocktail which was sold to us at a very good price, alongside a amazing burgers and fries! If your looking for a cruise to go to blue lagoon I couldn’t recommend these guys more 🙂
The crew were so friendly and helpful. Love the flexibility, if you wanted life vest, no problem! pool noodle, no problem! Wanted to get off at Gozo but didnt book it, they’ll help! if you want to stay at Blue Lagoon but booked to go to Gozo, we’ll sort that! Such a helpful and friendly can do attitude. So many great options and loads to do and see. Food was really good too.
It was overall a great experience. The boat and the guides were absolutely fine – it was other guests if anything that could be a little frustrating, but this can be expected in a larger group. I was shocked to see all deckchairs already full on the upper deck even though we came an hour early – you snooze you loose I suppose! Communication was clear and the itinerary was emailed but there was a little confusion with the several types of bands and what is which group doing when ( there was a little language barrier when we tried to ask some questions ) but not a major issue at all. Amazing swim at the blue lagoon!
On the flip side, one thing to keep in mind is the potential for crowds, especially since the lagoon is such a popular spot. If you’re looking for a stress-free, easygoing day with a friendly crew, this tour really hits the mark.
This tour is ideal for travelers who want a mix of sightseeing, water fun, and a relaxed day on the sea. It may not suit those with mobility issues or anyone seeking a more structured, less spontaneous experience, but for most, it offers a solid balance of adventure and chill.

The Main Event: Blue Lagoon
After about an hour of cruising and sightseeing, the boat anchors at the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino. Here, you’ll have an impressive 4.5 hours to swim, snorkel, relax, or simply soak up the stunning surroundings. The lagoon’s waters are crystal clear, with depths around 3 meters, making it perfect for swimming even for those who aren’t confident in the water. Rented masks and snorkels are available—just a small fee and deposit—so you can explore the abundant marine life.
It was a sunny and windy day, with big waves along the way, but the water in the Blue Lagoon was calm. There are lots of fish in the lagoon, both small and large, so I think snorkeling is something you shouldn't miss. The staff are helpful, but the announcements over the loudspeaker were difficult to understand. However, the times for each event, e.g. the departure of the boat from the Lagoon, were written in chalk near the exit. It is only worth getting off on the mainland long enough to look around, as there were food trucks and large crowds everywhere, and in some parts it was impossible to even lay down a towel. In comparison, the boat and the water around it were paradise. The price, qu…
Fantastic. We’ve been on this cruise twice now and enjoyed it both times. The staff were very informative and made everything clear (timings etc) to us. A very welcomed surprise was Louie, the Captain’s dog 😀
Perfect amount of time in location and very informative. Appreciated food and drink on board and was reasonably priced
One review sums it up: “The blue lagoon was stunning…we spent about half the time swimming and diving, and the other half lounging with a pineapple cocktail.” The crew makes it easy to stay comfortable and entertained, and the water slide is a big hit with families and kids alike, providing that extra splash of fun.
