Highly insightful and interesting explanation of Templar history and its manifestations in the castle. Much of the architectural symbolism is thoroughly detailed.
Our guide Renato did a fantastic job educating us on the history of the Templars and the Order of Christ in Portugal and bringing the incredible Convent to life. The tour was paced perfectly as we moved through the Convent, but never hurried.
Ana was our tour guide and she was fantastic! She gave the complete history of the Templar Knights better than I could learn from the History Channel. What an upbeat and interesting guide. If you like history, and have ever wondered about the Templars, this is a great tour to experience. Ana is passionate about history and will show you all her favorite spots at the Convent of Christ and will help you out with photos too! Just a pleasant, interesting and beautiful tour all around. Thank you Ana! My sister and I enjoyed the tour!

This was an absolutely amazing tour, Anna was fantastic! She was an excellent guide and historian and we also had plenty of time for photos and exploring. The site has so much to offer, we would have missed over half just on our own. I highly recommend booking this tour!! Thank you, Anna, for an amazing experience and one of the highlights of our time in Portugal.
We visited the Convent of the Christ after a morning tour of Crustas De Mira de Aire which is 40 minutes away. We had lunch at the cafeteria do Castelo (meeting point with the tour guide) and started our tour in time at 2:30 with Anna. Anna is an amazing and knowledgeable tour guide. She took us back in time to the Middle Ages recounting relevant stories about the place and gave us a nice overview and an outline of the tour while on the grounds outside the convent. Next we went inside, where she walked us through the three main sections of the place telling us historic facts about every little detail. It was a wonderful tour and we were very happy that we had a guide, otherwise we would hav…

We had an amazing tour around the Convent with Carolina – she is a historian, knowledgeable and not boring narration, showed as a lot of hidden gems. You definitely need someone who knows the place to show you around, otherwise – you could get lost! One of the best places I ever visited, for sure!
All the history the guide was able to share with our group made the castle and church come to life….she recommended we stop at Castle Abmoural enroute to Evora. Great suggestion.
Sara, our guide was amazing. She provided the background and history with intelligence and humor. Her English was excellent and we didn't want the tour to end.

Sarah was a terrific guide. She was very knowledgeable and did a great job sharing the history of the castle/convent in a way that was engaging and personable. The pace was good. Tour could easily have been 3 hours and don't think we would have still seen the entire complex. Recommend walking the castle grounds and the wall as well.
