Babs was outstanding, we travel a lot, love to do tours and she has been one of the best. It was wonderful to see the London tower opening ceremonies and the Crown Jewels with minimal people there. The boat tour and walking tour were good but a little rushed. However we were rushed because Babs made a great decision to hit the changing of the guard and we saw both the Calvary and the band marching change and with the Italian soldiers mascot dog. It was a wonderful experience and she made sure we still saw everything we would have without the changing of the guard. I would highly recommend this to 1st time and seasoned London visitors

I love to take tours when I travel to new cities and this is possibly the best I’ve ever been on. I ended up being the only one to sign up and unlike other companies, Urban Saunters didn’t cancel (it was actually a quick rebook after another company canceled on me). I’m so glad it happened! Babs was absolutely amazing. The tour was so comfortable and friendly. I learned a ton and she always seemed to get us to the perfect spot at the perfect time. Because it just ended up being me, she completely tailored the tour to my interests but I’m certain even a group tour would be wonderful. I got to meet the Beefeater and Guard (what a lucky turn!). She gave me so many helpful tips for…

Our tour of the Tower of London with Babs was absolutely outstanding and easily one of the highlights of our time in London. Babs was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and full of personality. She brought centuries of history to life with captivating stories, humor, and fascinating details that made everything—from royal drama to legendary prisoners—feel vivid and memorable. The way she explained complex history was clear, entertaining, and never overwhelming. What truly set Babs apart was her storytelling. She didn’t just recite facts; she made the Tower feel alive. She was also great at pacing the tour, making sure everyone could see, hear, and enjoy each stop, while happily answer…

This tour is designed to maximize your time and experience. It starts bright and early at the Tower of London, one of Britain’s most storied castles, with a special opening ceremony led by a Beefeater. This part is what sets this experience apart—being among the first to see the Crown Jewels before the crowds arrive is a highlight many reviewers love. Margarita_C called it “magical,” emphasizing how the early start made the visit more enjoyable and less crowded.

During the first two hours at the Tower, you’ll explore sites like Traitors Gate, William the Conqueror’s White Tower, and Henry VIII’s armor. The admission tickets are included, and many reviews mention how this allows for a comprehensive visit without the usual hustle. About 15 minutes are allocated for the Crown Jewels opening ceremony, giving you a front-row experience that many say is unforgettable—“The opening ceremony was magical,” as noted by Marcey_S.

Next, you’ll hop onto a river cruise on the Thames. This 30-minute ride is a relaxing way to see London’s riverside attractions, with your guide pointing out landmarks like Tower Bridge, Shakespeare’s Globe, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Reviews like Holly_B’s describe the cruise as “a fun and scenic way to see the sights,” adding a peaceful contrast to the busy morning.

From there, the tour transitions to the political and royal heart of London. You’ll view Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, then visit Westminster Abbey, both of which are free to explore briefly, but the guide enriches these visits with history tidbits. The Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall offers a prime photo opportunity with mounted cavalry, and St. James’s Palace, the oldest royal residence still in use, provides additional historic interest.
