This tour is a must. Learned so much about the history of Fredrickburg in a short time. The shopping and food was great, but the trolly ride tided it all together. Truly greatful for the tour guide and the families known and unknown that have sacrificed, lost and fought for a better way of life. Will visit again.
Excellent tour with great tour guide who provided tons of history. Visit to church and Greg sharing his family history was very moving.
If you like history and learning more about the area you are visiting, this is the tour for you. It was fun and informative. In my 81 years I have been on a lot of tours both in my country, the USA, as well as in other countries. Dave, our tour guide, was by far one of the best I have ever toured with. He was so knowledgeable and even though it was a historic tour it wasn’t dry facts and figures. Dave made the people from the past come alive for us. He did tell us facts but made them so interesting. He showed up pictures on his iPad, or whatever brand it was, that brought so many people and events to life. He took us into two churches that he knew the entire history of, and even added in p…

Dave is a great tour guide who is very knowledgeable of the area. We were able to get of the bus at two locations that were very interesting.
We have been to Fredericksburg every year for several years, but thought it might be fun to do an historic tour. We were not disappointed! We learned so much more about the area and saw so many different things that we’d never seen. We loved visiting the restored Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and talking with the great grandson of the original founders. Learning about the German settlers and seeing the German cemetery was interesting as well. Highly recommend.
The meeting place/point is at the Visitor's Center which is easy to find, but I was not aware that there is ample parking behind it. Trying to park on the street took some time, so now I know to simply go behind the buildings in the future. Very knowledgeable and accommodating guide who was able to answer any questions that came his way. You spend the majority of the tour in the trolley so no walking shoes needed. Two thumbs up!
