What really appeals to us about this tour is how it combines two very different towns—one celebrated for its perennial springtime vibe and the other for its stunning silver craftsmanship—allowing travelers to get a taste of Mexico’s diverse culture in a single day. Plus, the guided element means you’re not just wandering blindly but learning about the significance of each place.
I really enjoyed being in Taxco, but I feel as if things could’ve been planned/timed out better so as to have been able to experience more of Cuernavaca. Very little time was actually spent in Cuernavaca as compared to Taxco.
Informative, scenic day trip to picturesque Taxco and historic Cuernavaca. Sergio was an excellent guide, and Eduardo a safe, responsible driver. This trip, while a bit rushed given the distance from CDMX, was an affordable and well-planned excursion.
Amazing tour. Our tour guide Javier García was awesome!
On the flip side, the long hours mean you’ll need to be prepared for a pretty full day, which could be tiring, especially if you’re not used to quite so much travel.
This tour seems best suited for those who want a convenient, budget-friendly way to see some highlights without the hassle of planning, but it may feel a bit rushed if you’re craving a more relaxed pace or more in-depth exploration. Overall, it’s a good choice for curious travelers eager to tick off two iconic towns in one go.

The highlight here is a visit to one of the oldest cathedrals in the Americas, located at the Recinto de la Cathedral complex.

It was a little messy at the start but as the trip officially began, it was obvious that the guide was extremely dedicated and he attended to everyone's needs. He speaks pretty good english and is a fantastic driver as well. Taxco and Cuernavaca are both very beautiful places as well, albeit really hot. A lot of sceneries and gorgeous streets, I really enjoyed it 🙂
While the travel time is long, this tour let's you see the beautiful area outside Mexico City. Guide I had was very good at telling you about the history of the areas. He was also willing to answer questions. Very pleasant day. Only issue I had was our hotel was outside the pick up area. I didn't find out until after I booked the tour.
The trip to Cuernavaca and Taxco was very interesting to me. Our driver / guide Jaime was very kind and he was talking and explaining very much. I was sitting in the last raw of the van and I could not hear him well although I wanted to listen him because all he was talking was interesting. But, the most of other fellow-passengers were sleeping and not interested in his explanations. I asked the driver to allow me to sit in the first row, beside him, because I wanted to listen him. He was kind and allowed me that. In Taxco we had another, local guide, he was also very kind and friendly.
We found that the time in Cuernavaca is somewhat limited, with reviews like Robert’s noting, "Very little time was actually spent in Cuernavaca." If you’re a history buff or love exploring on foot, this might feel a bit rushed. Still, it’s enough to appreciate the historic architecture and soak in the city’s peaceful vibe.
The Drive to Taxco: Scenic Views
After Cuernavaca, you’ll hop back on the bus for the roughly two-hour drive to Taxco. The route itself is scenic, featuring views of rolling hills and traditional Mexican countryside, making the journey a part of the adventure.
