Thinking about exploring Florida’s iconic wetlands and combining it with a taste of Miami’s vibrant city scene? This tour from Miami offers a balanced day packed with wildlife encounters, scenic boat rides, and a city bus tour. It’s a popular pick among those who want a bit of everything without breaking the bank.
What we really like about this experience is its affordability (just $40 per person) and the variety of activities packed into one day. Whether you’re into wildlife, scenic views, or city sights, there’s something for all. But it’s worth noting that the tour can be on the longer side—up to 9 hours—so it’s best for those prepared for a full day of sightseeing.
One thing to consider: the tour’s structure means some parts might feel a bit rushed, especially if you’re eager to get lots of gator sightings or explore at your own pace.
Everything was very smooth and informative. We are very happy we chose this tour for the Everglades. Everyone who was organising and part of the tour were very friendly.
We met only 1 alligator who's been far from our boat. Half of day enough for it.
Only saw one alligator was ok probably better in winter
It’s definitely a tour that suits adventurous travelers with flexible schedules and an interest in Florida’s natural and urban landscapes. If you’re traveling with young kids or looking for a more relaxed experience, be mindful of the busy schedule.
This tour is great for first-timers in Miami wanting a comprehensive day out, or nature lovers eager to see the Everglades’ famous wildlife. It’s a solid choice if you value guided insights, scenic views, and good value, as long as you’re comfortable with a busy itinerary.

Fantastic day! The city tour in particular was amazing
we had will at the exhibit and josh on the boat. they were both brilliant, we could have spent the day there chatting with them
The bus ride was comfortable, and the driver was very friendly and provided us with very clear tips and directions for the tour. Once we arrived we went to the boat, and Captain Andrew was our tour guide. We had a lot of luck with the weather because it was sunny and not too cold, but we definitely recommend long sleeves for the wind as the boat speeds through the canal. Captain Andrew spotted 4 alligators for us, we got close to them and took many pics! He had a lot of dad jokes lol and answered many of our questions about the reptiles, which made the boat ride super lighthearted and interesting. The souvenir shop had good finds, and the exhibit topped the experience by allowing us to see m…
Once you’ve toured the city, you’ll cruise through Biscayne Bay, passing Millionaires Row and spotting lavish homes on Star Island, Palm Island, and Hibiscus Island. Trust us, the views of Miami’s waterfront mansions are pretty impressive and a highlight for many.
After the city tour, the focus shifts to the Everglades. The journey from Miami to the park takes about 50-60 minutes in an air-conditioned double-decker bus, with a small fee (US$2) paid onsite. Here, you’ll hop onto a 40-minute narrated airboat ride across the River of Grass.
The guides will point out native wildlife, especially alligators, and share interesting facts. Many reviews mention how helpful and engaging the guides are, making this part of the day both fun and educational.
Captain Andrew’s boat ride, for example, allowed passengers to get quite close to alligators, with some reviewers seeing up to four.
The bus was very comfortable, driver was nice, got there pretty quickly. Airboat was cool too, the captain was funny and very pleasant, helpful, informative. Spotted 3 gators while on the airboat
This was a fantastic trip as I was only in Miami for 2 days. I got to see so much in 1 day and it wasn't tiring at all. The communication and information beforehand was brilliant. The airboat ride was great fun (don't forget to take an extra jumper/coat, as it can be windy and wet out on the Everglades). We managed to see 2 alligators in the grass. Staff at the Everglades are passionate about their work and full of information. A great morning, although it can be over an hour's drive from Miami due to traffic. That said, there was an onboard toilet. Thank you for a great experience…
We had a really lovely day on our 3 part day trip, every part of it was great fun. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any alligators in the mangroves, but this didn’t spoil the hoverboat ride. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the mangrove, birds, animals and insects etc. The bus transport was good too. Next we went on a Miami open top bus tour, the driver and guide were fantastic, told us lots of things about the art deco buildings, and we were lucky to also stop off in Little Havana where we sampled Cuban coffee and the graffiti district of Wynwood (which was absolutely brilliant)). We finished the day with a lovely boat ride to see Miami’s celebr…
Post-ride, there’s a live alligator show lasting around 40 minutes. Trainers introduce the reptiles, explaining their habits and lifecycle, often with a humorous touch. It’s a good chance to get up close to these creatures safely, and many visitors enjoy petting the baby gators at the exhibit afterward.
After exploring the park at your leisure, you’ll board the bus back to Miami, completing a full-day adventure. Some travelers found the entire experience smooth and well-organized, praising the friendly staff and clear instructions.

What Makes This Tour Stand Out

One of the most praised aspects is the guides’ knowledge and friendliness. Several reviews mentioned how engaging and helpful the guides were, making the experience more meaningful and less like a typical tourist trap. Captain Andrew, in particular, was appreciated for his humor and spotting skills, with one reviewer noting he pointed out four alligators.
The scenery and wildlife sightings also get high marks—weather permitting. Some reviews mention seeing multiple alligators, while others, like Agata from Canada, noted that they didn’t see any but still enjoyed the ride. The live show and exhibits are considered a good complement, giving a balanced view of the creatures’ lives.
The Everglades are a quintessential part of Florida and visiting was a must Unfortunately for us we did not see any alligators! However, the whole tour was an absolute joy.
The most important thing is to get your hands on a good deal. We have some of the highest prices on our product right there in this area and you should get your money from them
The activities itselves were absolutely good, we loved all of them (everglades airboat, bus tour and boat tour) and definitely suggested to anyone. The only problem was that there were useless waiting times (2×1 hour) which resulted in the ending of 20.00 instead of 18.00. This is not acceptable, since everyone prepares through the description and people pay lot of money to be in Miami! If you keep this in mind and prepare for it, you will enjoy the programme.
Value for money is another recurring theme. For around $40, you get quite a lot—airboat ride, wildlife show, transportation, and optional city tour. The reviews suggest that most feel it offers good bang for your buck, especially considering the included activities.
The Downsides to Keep in Mind

While the tour has many positive aspects, a few drawbacks are worth mentioning. A common concern is timing and pacing—some reviews mention feeling rushed, especially if multiple activities are packed into one day. Waiting times at the park can extend the day beyond the scheduled hours, with some travelers ending their day around 8 or 9 pm instead of the planned 6 pm.
Another point is that weather plays a significant role. Sun, wind, or rain can affect the visibility of wildlife and overall enjoyment. The boat ride is fast and open, so long sleeves or jackets are recommended, as noted by a reviewer who enjoyed the ride but wished they’d prepared for the wind.
Lastly, the experience is largely guided, meaning tips are expected (and appreciated). If you’re someone who prefers self-guided or more relaxed trips, this might feel a bit structured or rushed.
We felt a little rushed at location. Was supposed to be a 5 hour tour we left Miami at 9am and were back by 1pm. Our guide was not great scary driving and inappropriate The actual airboat and wildlife show was great we are a family of 5 and all enjoyed it
