Planning a day trip from Zurich to the Swiss Alps sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? This tour offers a chance to see Interlaken, a town famous for its lakes and towering mountains, along with a visit to the Harder Kulm viewpoint, known as the “Top of Interlaken.” While it’s a popular choice for travelers wanting a quick alpine escape, is it worth the time and money? Let’s unpack what makes this experience appealing — and what to keep in mind before booking.

What we love about this tour is the effortless transportation and the chance to enjoy some of Switzerland’s most iconic mountain views in a single day. The guided ascent to Harder Kulm is particularly memorable, with expansive vistas that make every photo worth it. Plus, the balance of free time in Interlaken means you can wander at your own pace, soaking in the local charm.

A potential downside is that this isn’t a guided tour in the traditional sense — there’s no guide with you at every stop, just transportation and tickets included. This means you’ll need to be comfortable exploring independently and managing your time. It’s best suited for travelers who appreciate flexibility and aren’t looking for a deeply narrated experience.

We are blessed to have Ioannis as our guide. He made our trip the most memorable. We learned so much about the beautiful country of Switzerland. We were the inquisitive group with all the questions about the Swiss and Ioannis entertained us and answered them all. As a new citizen of Switzerland, we can see that Ioannis is very proud of his new homeland and we are lucky to be acquainted with him as our guide and first impressions of this country. He is a safe driver and made sure we were well rested through the long journey from Zurich to Interlaken. The trip was great, Tony made everything so we can feel comfortable and enjoy our trip. The bus was very nice with panoramic windows and roof. We had an opportunity to visit Grindelwald even though it wasn’t a part of our trip, and we even liked it more than Lauterbrunnen, which was too crowded. Harder Kulm is beautiful and worth visiting, we can’t wait to return to Switzerland and see other beauties! I want to say more thanks to Tony, he is a good person, who loves his job. Also, pay attention that it’s not a guided tour, you have a driver, who can tell you something, but not the guide, you will have free time in villages.

finding the meeting point and the van wasnt difficult at all! we had a very good driver who explained every step of the trip very well and would point out things along the way during the drive. it’s a 2 hour drive from zurich but the scenery is AMAZING! you stop a few times along the way and see some sights. we had an hour and a half at the Staubbach waterfall; we got to hike up underneath it and then explore the town below. then we continued on to interlaken where the driver showed us the pick up place and then took us to Harder Kuhln lookout (provided the tickets) we went up and then when we got back down we had 5 hours to explore Interlaken and all its beauty before meeting at the pick …
