We were really pleased with the whole experience. Andrew, our tour guide, clearly knew his stuff, especially the local history, which made the journey more interesting. We were able to see parts of the island that we would never have been managed by ourselves without access to a car. He picked great spots to stop, gave us an interesting insight into the island overall, and was always happy to answer questions with proper detail. He was funny and the drive was comfortable. He was on time, well-priced, and honestly just excellent at what he does. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island.

Great small group tour of the main sights of Fuerteventura.. just 8 people in a mini bus with AC. Picked up on time. Very friendly & engaging driver who was fluent in English & German for the 2 nationalities on board. Learned a lot about the island and enjoyed all the amazing sights. Decent stop for coffee at Betancuria. And longer stop at Ajuy for the caves and lunch. Be aware the options for lunch are limited, only full meals and rather pricey so consider a snack at the coffee stop (cheesecake toasties etc) or bring lunch if a full meal is not what you wanted.

Great tour around the main points of the island, full days tour and pickup from hotel, may vary so check. Andrew was a great tour guide/driver and knew the best places to go even avoiding the coaches so we got to places before they got busy. Well recommended small group (8) tour

First stop is the fisher village of Corralejo, the largest resort town in the north. A leisurely trip around the island in an air-conditioned vehicle with the company of 8 people. A few stops along the way (to Betuncuria, Ajuy caves for lunch, and Sotavento beach). Plenty of opportunities to take photos. A knowledgeable and friendly guide (Andrew). The good weather is a bonus. A perfect day for us.

Had a great excursion with Andrew. So knowledgeable about the island and the places we visited. Right amount of time spent at each location

If you’re into photography, this spot offers incredible shots of sweeping sands, the nearby islands of Lobos and Lanzarote, and the vast blue sky. Multiple reviews mention how memorable this scenery is—“you can take pictures of the amazing landscapes,” as one visitor noted, highlighting how photo-worthy the dunes really are.

Sotavento Beach

Next, you’ll stop at Playa de Sotavento, a 10-minute photo stop at the Mirador del Salmo. This beach is famous for its length—approximately 30 kilometers—and its reputation as a world-class kite and windsurfing destination. We appreciated the guide’s explanation of what “Sotavento” means—downwind—which helps you understand why wind conditions here are so ideal.

The reviews frequently mention Sotavento as a highlight, with visitors noting how it’s a unique place. Many have seen it featured in films, and it’s a prime spot for sweeping landscape photos.

Ajuy and Limestone Caves

A big part of the tour’s charm is the visit to Ajuy, a small village with a black volcanic beach and authentic limestone caves. It’s a place where you get a real sense of the island’s volcanic origins.

Andrew, our guide was excellent! He shared his knowledge and experience of the island and took us to all 4 corners of the Islas. It was lovely to see the great sights and learn the history of the amazing Island. Visited the popcorn beach, Ajuy and the first capital of the Canary Islands. It was lovely being part of a small and friend group of fellow tourists. It made the tour much more interesting.

There’s also a local restaurant nearby where you can grab a cheap, tasty lunch—fresh fish, goat meat, cheese, or vegan options. Many reviews praise the food choice as being value for money and fitting well with the experience.

Time at Ajuy is split between exploring the impressive caves and relaxing on the black sand beach. The caves are a natural wonder, and while walking into them is optional, it’s highly recommended if you want to get a feel for Fuerteventura’s volcanic landscape.

Betancuria and Cultural Insights

A highlight of the tour is a visit to Betancuria, one of the island’s oldest villages, founded in 1404. This quaint town offers a walk through history, with cobbled streets and the Santa Maria Cathedral—though visiting the interior might involve a small donation.

The guide explains the significance of the village and the nearby Tindaya Mountain, made of anthracite, adding an archaeological dimension to the trip.

Adriana S
The best tour we've ever experienced! Pierre loves what he does and this is visible in every aspect. He treats the island and its inhabitants with respect and he has a great sense of humor. Also a great plus, was his beautiful and very chill dog named Kenzo, who immediately had a connection with my autistic daughter. We will never forget this day and we will certainly never forget the CHEVRE 😉

Visitors consistently comment on how charming and cozy Betancuria feels, and many appreciate the chance to see a piece of Fuerteventura’s past.

Scenic Viewpoints and Volcano Landscapes

The tour takes in several viewpoints, like the Mirador Guise y Ayose and Mirador Astronomico, offering panoramic vistas of the island’s diverse landscapes. These stops are quick but impactful, giving great photo opportunities and a true sense of the island’s volcanic origins.

The Dunes of Corralejo and Final Highlights

The trip concludes with a visit to Dunas de Corralejo, a UNESCO-protected area famous for its expansive sand dunes. Visitors love the scenery here, noting it’s “one of the most beautiful dunes” and an essential stop. The protected status means you'll see a pristine, untouched landscape, great for photos or just soaking in the view.
