Robbe was absolutely AMAZING! If you’re looking for a guide, do not hesitate to book with him. From the moment we booked, his communication was excellent—he took the time to understand our fitness level and comfort zone, and when we asked for a more challenging hike, he delivered exactly that (and more!). He even gave us direction ahead of time by suggesting any clothing or gear we might need and offering gear such as jackets if we did not bring it . On the day of the hike, Robbe was incredibly knowledgeable and chose a trail with the most breathtaking views—every step was completely worth it. The experience felt less like being led by a guide and more like hiking with a friend. He wa…

We loved our full day hike! Robbe communicated very well prior to our hike which was very nice. He was prompt in picking us up, which we appreciated. He was quickly able to recognize our ability and was truly interested in keeping us safe. Robbe took us to beautiful vistas that we would not have been able to see otherwise. We loved our full day hike! Steve and Janelle

Robbe was amazing. He was very warm and engaging and so accommodating! We enjoyed a beautifully day hiking. Robbe took us on an awesome hike and completely took it at our pace. If you’re on the fence about this tour, don’t hesitate! It was fantastic!

The only potential caveat might be the price, which is around $317 per person—considering what’s included, it’s an investment in quality rather than just a walk in the mountains.

This tour works best for those who appreciate a flexible, well-organized adventure that combines nature, comfort, and a touch of local flavor. If you’re comfortable walking moderate distances, enjoy scenic views, and like the idea of a guided experience that adapts to weather conditions, you’ll find it rewarding.

As a visitor to Switzerland for the first time, I was desperate to experience the mountains up close. But I'm also scared of heights, so when I saw the hike that we were going on when we got to the location, I thought that there was no way I'd be able to do it but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't quite as scary as I thought. It was definitely challenging and uncomfortable at times but there were very few sheer drops next to us, which made it a more comfortable experience. In terms of ease, I'd say that I have basic fitness but the altitude and 30 degree heat on the day made the climb harder than it might have been on a cooler day. However, it is totally do-able, and will g…

This hike was amazing. We couldn’t asked for a better guide. Robbe was prompt, accommodated food requirements, helped out on the hike when needed and answered all of our questions. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide or experience!! We even saw mountain goats 🐐

lt was a beautiful time with very beautiful sights. Our tour guide, Robbie was very kind and gave us the option on what we wanted to do. Took us to this beautiful glacier and lake afterwards. I would definitely come back and hike with them again

During the summer months, you’ll explore the Göscheneralpsee trail, which is famed for its stunning views of lush meadows, peaceful forests, and especially the glacier lake, Göscheneralpsee. The beauty of this route is how it combines different landscapes—each offering unique photo opportunities and tranquil spots to take in the scenery.

If you’re hiking in winter, the tour switches gears to snowshoeing, with routes over Engelberg Titlis, Langis, or Rigi. These trails transform into winter wonderlands, with snow-covered terrain and mountain vistas that feel straight out of a postcard. The guide remains flexible here, adjusting routes to ensure safety and enjoyment.

What Makes the Hike Special?

This isn’t just a walk—it’s a carefully curated experience. According to reviews, guides like Robbe take extra steps to make sure everyone gets the most out of the day.

One reviewer praised Robbe’s attentiveness, noting how he helps with questions and even takes pictures to capture the moment. You’ll love the way guides tailor the pace and difficulty, making sure the hike feels challenging but achievable.

Marc B
Our guide, Robbe, was interested in making this expedition exactly what we wanted and what we were able to do. He was so nice, and caring, and he added to our experience by taking pictures and telling us a lot of information of what we were seeing. As a scientist, I was looking for rather unique, natural things, and Robbe really helped me to be successful! My expectations were met and exceeded.
Michael C
We couldn’t do hike in the Alps due to thunderstorms so Robbe called an audible and took us to Mt Rigi. The hike up was just the right level of difficulty if you are in reasonable shape, not too difficult but not too easy. The views were spectacular, and we had a nice simple picnic style lunch at the top provided by Robbe. After the hike we took a nice dip in Lake Lucerne to cool off. A great way to spend a morning/afternoon. Highly recommended.

We booked a private tour, and it was the highlight of our Switzerland trip! Great communication, stunning views, and so much fun! The tour was tailored to our preferences and hiking skill level. Even though the weather forecasted for rain, it didnt rain much and we were able to fully enjoy. The hiking was fun and just challenging enough, and the swim was refreshing. Our guide thought of everything, took pics for us, and made sure we were comfortable and having fun. I'd do it again and totally recommend.

The Lake Stop and Swim

After the hike, you’ll head to Lake Lucerne, where weather permits, for a refreshing swim and some downtime. The exact spot varies depending on the trail chosen that day, but the idea remains the same: a chance to cool off and relax amidst stunning mountain scenery.

If the weather isn’t cooperating, no worries—you’ll visit a cozy bistro instead. This flexibility is a real plus, ensuring your day isn’t spoiled by a rain shower.

What’s Included and What’s Not

The tour’s price of about $317 covers transportation (including pickup and drop-off), a packed lunch (with vegetarian/vegan options), bottled spring water, soda, and WiFi onboard. It’s quite comprehensive, especially considering the convenience of having everything organized for you.

However, you’ll want to bring good walking shoes, a warm jacket or sweater, and possibly a raincoat—mountain weather can change quickly. If you plan to swim, packing swimwear and a towel is advisable. Snacks are not included, so if you fancy some extra treats or want to grill, you’ll need to buy those on your own at the supermarket stop.

This was a great day. Robbie was a great guide and he really made this hike a lot of fun for us. We are in our 60s and experienced hikers. However he tailors the hike to your abilities. I highly recommend.
Anita W
Although the weather forecast showed rain for the day, we still went on the hike, and it was so worth it! Luckily, the sun did come out, so don't let a little rain deter you because it most likely won't last all day. Robbe was amazing, supportive, and easy to hike with! The views were breathtaking, and the hike challenged my body in all the best ways. I'd definitely do it again.
JOSHUA T
The hike was amazing! Our guide, Robbe was very helpful and kind. Provided us food and help during the duration of the activity. Communication was also easy. It’s also a plus that we went and got to take a dip in the lake.

The Experience Value

At roughly 8 to 11 hours, this is a full-day commitment, but it feels well paced. The reviews consistently highlight the value of the experience—not just for the stunning views but also for the personalized service. Many reviewers noted how guides like Robbe made the hike enjoyable and tailored to their abilities, even helping less experienced hikers keep pace.

The price might seem steep at first glance, but considering all the inclusions, the small-group setting, and the ability to customize the experience, it offers good value. Plus, the chance to enjoy a lakeside swim, potentially spot mountain goats, and take in panoramic mountain vistas makes it more than just a walk—it’s a memorable adventure.

Who Should Book This?

It’s perfect if you’re okay with spending a full day outdoors, enjoy small-group dynamics, and appreciate a mix of activity and relaxation.
