Cecilia C

Kathleen K
Excellent 1/2 day tour with a pleasant and knowledgeable guide. Wish we did a full day wine tour….next time.

The expert guides seem to bring a lot of knowledge and friendliness to the table, which can make all the difference when you’re tasting wine and visiting small villages.

One thing to keep in mind is that some reviews mention that the itinerary can vary and may sometimes feel rushed or less comprehensive than expected, especially if visiting three vineyards isn’t possible.

Also, it’s worth noting that the tour is primarily focused on the Côtes du Rhône and not the high-end Grand Cru wines—so if you’re after that level of tasting, you might want to look elsewhere or adjust expectations accordingly.

This tour is likely best suited for wine lovers who enjoy scenic drives, want a taste of Provence’s vineyards, and appreciate a relaxed, informative outing without a hefty price tag. It’s a good fit for curious travelers eager to learn about French wine but who aren’t necessarily looking for a deep dive into the most exclusive wineries.

The vineyard we visited was beautiful. Our guide seemed a bit rushed at times. We were supposed to visit 3 vineyards but went only to a wine cellar and one vineyard.
Michael N
Nice getting to taste different wines with an informative guide! We were able to see the diversity of the regions terroir
Katy K
Thierry was excellent and the range of the tour perfect. Great experience to be in the fields and the wine making areas plus generous tastings! We ran a little over time but it was great. Thanks!

David was our tour guide and driver. He went above and beyond to include me in the tour!!. I was struggling to find parking and David guided me to a parking lot and picked me up from there!! I learned more about French wine in that trip to the Vineyards and I’ve ever known before. He is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The wineries that we went to were excellent and would enjoy visiting there again!! I highly recommend this tour and would definitely take it again to visit other wineries!!!

We did our tour with Thierry and absolutely loved it. Thierry was one of my favorite guides we’ve had for any tour. His mannerisms and his knowledge was just awesome. He really cared about us having a good time and he was very flexible with our group on where we wanted to spend more time, and stopping by for us to get food, etc. he had great relationships with the winery and his knowledge was extensive. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Good Value for Money: At just under $93 per person, the experience offers a solid mix of tastings, scenery, and learning, especially given the small group setting. Several comments reflect satisfaction with the balance between cost and experience.

Personalized Experience: The small group (usually 8 or fewer guests) means you’re not just another face in a crowd—guides have time for questions, and the pace feels comfortable rather than rushed.

Possible Drawbacks or Considerations

Half Day Great Vineyard Tour from Avignon - Possible Drawbacks or Considerations

While many reviews are glowing, some mention that the itinerary can feel a bit rushed, especially if the visit to three wineries isn’t always possible. One review notes, “We visited only two vineyards and a wine cellar,” even though the plan was for three, so expect some variability.

Another point is that the tour focuses mainly on Côtes du Rhône wines and not the more exclusive, higher-end Grand Cru selections. If your aim is luxury tastings, this might not fully meet your expectations. Also, some visitors note that at one vineyard, the owner didn’t speak English, which limited the explanation about the wine.

Anneke T
Great experience, very knowledgeable guide and good communication from the company. I’d recommend to everyone.
juliette d
We had a tour with Theirry (spelling??) and he was PERFECT! Upbeat, polite, fun and incredibly informative. He managed to even switch our tour around for an additional special winery. I feel like I know much more about Southern Rhone wines.
YinHei L
The wine tour was fair. It wasn’t a Grand Cru wine tour. It should state clearly that it is merely a Côtes du Rhône tour. The first winery is plainly a wine shop with 7 bottles of wine to choose from. No explanation of his wine because the owner didn’t speak English. Few pieces of paper with few photos showing his barrels. You take a sip and decide to buy it or not. Quite disappointing. The second winery is better. The staff there explained detail on the type of wine and grapes they have. The guide showed us the manufacturing process (but he made it real quick because he wastes some time on picking up other guests ).The third one is the best of all. But our guide seemed to arrive there…

Lastly, the tour’s success relies heavily on the guide’s ability to manage time and group dynamics. While most reviews highlight fantastic guides, a slightly hurried pace can sometimes occur, especially if there are other guests to pick up or drop off.
