This half-day tour to Hierve el Agua offers a focused, immersive visit to these extraordinary petrified waterfalls, skipping the crowds and unnecessary stops. It’s perfect if you’re short on time but still want to see, hike, and swim in a place that feels truly special.
What we really like about this experience is how it concentrates solely on Hierve el Agua, ensuring you get plenty of quality time without distractions. Plus, the early start lets you beat the crowds and enjoy the site at its most peaceful. On the flip side, the scheduled 2-hour hike requires some physical stamina and proper footwear, so it’s not ideal for travelers with mobility issues.
This trip was well worth the price. Lupita and her father took excellent care of us to plan an itinerary which took us to the springs early and without the crowds. I very much enjoyed our conversations about Oaxaca culture too.
It was the most amazing trip. Leaving early is perfect to avoid the heat of the day and any crowds. It felt as if we had the place to ourselves. The best part was our hosts .. Lupita and her father who drove us. Lupita shared so much interesting information about the region and was the best company. The stop for a traditional breakfast was a highlight. The pick up arrangements were very easy and well communicated. Huge thank you to Lupita and her father for a truly memorable trip. We would highly recommend to anyone! 😀
Hands down one of my favorite adventures in Mexico! Guadalupe was a fantastic guide! Great communication before and during our trip! Pedro and Guadalupe were so knowledgeable and kept us engaged during the tour and were so very friendly and accommodating throughout! I wasn’t able to find many other tours that were half-day, so this was perfect for us, as we didn’t have too much time in Oaxaca. Our small group had a lot of fun together, and I feel like I walked away from this tour with new friends 🙂 I also really appreciate Guadalupe keeping in touch with us after the tour, offering up so many wonderful recommendations to try out on our own (every recommendation we tried was fantastic)! …
Overall, if you’re someone who appreciates nature, wants a guided insight, and values a manageable half-day adventure, this could be a great fit.

What a lovely morning. Lupita, our guide, arrived to meet us on time, with her Dad Luis who drove us to Hierve el Agua. This place is amazing… the walk around the park gives great views of the petrified falls but the swim in the pools at the end was the best bit. Like the most fantastic infinity pool you've ever been in. Lupita was a great guide, she have us informative commentary about Oaxaca itself and translating from the park guide too. She knew when to speak and when to give us space over the 1.5 hour car journeys. The traditional breakfast en route was great too, easy on the chilli sauce though 😀. Highly recommended.
Had great fun, Lupita had everything arranged perfectly, spoke English fluently and guided us with in depth explanations and descriptions on all our hike, she also knew all the locals making us feel safe and at ease.
This was one of the most enjoyable outings of our trip to Mexico. Aside from the beautiful falls and pools, Lupita was a big reason why the day was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend booking with Lupita. We started early and only went to the one site indicated, aside from stopping for a wonderful breakfast along the way. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time for lovely photos without the crowds. Lupita was a fabulous guide – very considerate of the guests' abilities and it was obvious that she wanted to make to experience positive and fun for all the guests. Limiting the trip to only the falls was great because you can spend all the time you need, without feeling rushed and after …
