If you’re considering stepping outside the bustle of Seattle and into the natural beauty of Washington’s wilderness, this small-group hiking tour might be just what you’re looking for. While I haven’t personally done this exact experience, the rave reviews and detailed itinerary paint a picture of a well-organized, scenic, and flexible outdoor adventure.
What really caught our eye are how stress-free the logistics are—round-trip transportation from Seattle takes all the hassle out of planning your own trip—and the personalized touch of a small group, which allows guides to tailor the hike to your ability and interests. On the flip side, keep in mind this tour is around 6 and a half hours, so it’s best suited for those with moderate fitness who can handle a full day on the trail.
Ideally, this experience suits travelers eager for a mix of adventure, nature, and a good dose of fresh air, all with expert guidance.
First visit to Seattle and wanted to get a hike in, well worth the money. Matt was an amazing guide, we hiked Rattlesnake Ridge, stopped at Snoqualmie falls. Excellent experience, highly recommend!
The hike to Snow Lake was amazing although it was raining throughout the hike and views of the mountains were limited which was a bummer. The hike is rocky in many places, and on this day wet, so wear sturdy footwear with good traction. Matt was an excellent guide and very personable. Really has a passion for hiking and great resource for other hiking options in the area.
I had a great hike with Matt – he was knowledgeable about the trails and tailored the hike to my level and preferences. We went to the Rattlesnake Ledge Trail then to the Snoqualmie Falls after. Highly recommend both Matt and Mike's Hike Club in general!

The Itinerary in Detail

Starting in Seattle
The adventure kicks off at the central meeting point in Seattle, where your guide will consult with the group to decide on the best trail for that day. This is a thoughtful touch—no one wants to hike in conditions or terrain that aren’t suited to their ability or preference. Whether you’re craving a mountain summit, waterfalls, or lakeside views, the guide’s knowledge ensures you’re set up for a memorable experience.
The Drive to the Trailhead
Once the route is determined, the group caravans to the chosen trailhead. This part of the tour is more than just transportation—it’s your first window into the region’s scenery. Passing through lush forests and mountain vistas, you’ll begin to feel the excitement build.
On the Trail
Expect to stretch before heading out, with your guide providing trekking poles and safety tips. The actual hike can vary depending on your group’s preference, but you’ll generally be on the trail for about 4 hours, with plenty of opportunities for breaks and photos. Reviewers frequently mention how guides like Connor or Matt pace the walk perfectly—“they let us go at our own pace,” and “slowed down to make sure I was safe and enjoyed the hike.” That flexibility makes a big difference, especially if you’re not a seasoned hiker.
Highlights Along the Way
Depending on the chosen trail, you’ll encounter a range of beautiful sights. Popular destinations like Rattlesnake Ledge or Snow Lake are frequent favorites, offering views that make the effort worthwhile, as several reviewers attest—“The view from Rattlesnake Ledge makes the hike worth it,” says one happy hiker. Others enjoy waterfalls like Bridal Veil or Wallace Falls, which serve as refreshing rewards after a steady climb.
My 17yo son & I had an amazing hike & day with Matt to Snow Lake. It was about 6.5mi & catered to exactly what we asked for. Absolutely gorgeous hike, scenery; wonderful convo with Matt who is a very old soul & lovely to be around. The hike was challenging but not difficult. We felt accomplished at the end, getting exactly what I signed up for. Matt made the entire experience what it was – perfect! Super cool human being!
This was my second time with Miles hike club and I would highly recommend this company. We did the Snow lake hike and what a fabulous experience it was. About 1700 feet elevation and 6.4 miles return. And the views were spectacular. You can even swim in the lake. Matt the guide was very professional ,friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re not familiar with hiking I would suggest an easier option which Miles would happily recommend.
We had a wonderful time hiking with Matthew. He was fun to talk with and spend the day with. I really enjoyed the trail and views – Washington is breathtaking. We finished the hike a little early and he brought us to another location to see waterfalls and grab some ice cream which was a nice extra touch.
Post-Hike Relaxation
After the hike, there’s often time to explore a local chocolate shop or grab a quick bite, making the entire day feel like a well-rounded mini-adventure. This optional extension adds a nice touch, allowing you to wind down and enjoy some local treats.
What’s Included and What’s Not
You’ll find that the tour offers good value for the price of $175 per person. Included are snacks, bottled water, trekking poles, parking fees, and hand sanitizer—all practical essentials that make your hike smoother. The guide’s expertise, combined with these extras, creates a hassle-free experience where you can focus on enjoying the scenery.
However, remember that masks are not included, so if you prefer to wear one, bring your own. Also, you'll want to bring your own meals if you need more than snacks, and perhaps your camera or phone for photos (the guides will happily take pictures too).
The Group Size and Atmosphere

With a cap of 10 travelers, this tour maintains an intimate vibe. This small group size garners praise in reviews, with hikers feeling comfortable and unhurried. It’s especially appreciated by solo travelers, who note that guides like Connor adapt well to pacing and individual needs—“the tour still went through and I am very grateful for that,” one reviewer mentions.
