Robert was an amazing, funny guide and very knowledgeable about the area. The experience was perfect…enough time to tour the dam, see the exhibits, cross the dam into Arizona and take beautiful photos. Boulder City is quaint and we had great beer at the Brewery.

Expect to spend about an hour here, so pace yourself accordingly.
Bring your own lunch. The time line is strict, lots of stops for views and snacks, but no time to sit and order food.
Incredible history and monument. Guide was super patient and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed seeing the Marcel of engineering.
Hoover Dam tour was amazing! Learned so much about the construction and benefits of the dam. Our driver was fabulous! He was knowledgeable and fun. Our bus broke down and he handled the emergency well and we were up and running in a different bus within 30 min.
Stop 2: Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge
Next, you’ll make your way to this spectacular bridge that spans 900 feet above the Colorado River. From here, you’ll get to view the dam, the river, and Lake Mead, all from a lofty vantage point. This is often highlighted as a photo highlight, with travelers marveling at the breathtaking vistas. The stop is about 30 minutes, great for snapping some shots and soaking in the scenery.

The Pros of This Tour

Knowledgeable guides really make a difference. Many reviews emphasize how guides like Paulie or Luis make the trip engaging with stories and insights. The inside access to the generator room and tunnels is rare; it’s a highlight for those interested in engineering and history.
The scenic views from the bridge are often described as “stunning,” providing a perfect photo opportunity and a chance to appreciate the dam’s grandeur from above. The inclusion of additional local stops, like Boulder City Museum, adds a nice touch to the trip, making it more than just a quick dam visit.
The price point of $85 per person is generally seen as reasonable, given the insider access, guided commentary, and included transportation. Travelers often mention they felt it was good value, especially compared to more expensive full-day tours.
The Cons and Considerations

A few recurring concerns are worth noting. Some reviews point out the bus arriving late or the tour feeling rushed, particularly at Boulder City. If you’re someone who prefers a more relaxed pace or wants ample time for exploring, this might feel a bit tight.
So the trip said 5 hrs. But really it’s like 40 min at the dam and then three silly 10 15 min stops and finally when your ready to sit down and have a drink and meal in Boulder City your told you have 30 min which was barely enough time to wee much less get good with the lines. The three folks on…

Found out once on the bus that the experience we paid for we weren’t getting. Wanted to see the inside of the dam but also thought we paid to walk across it as well but were told we had to pick one or the other because there wouldn’t be enough time for both. Also found out that we could have been…

The trip was great but Boulder City was very rushed. We were given 30 min which only allowed us enough time to order a sandwich from a deli and return to the bus to eat it. There were several cute shops and antique stores we passed in the tow which would have beennice to poke around in.
There are also some restrictions about what you can bring into the dam, and the fact that the tour is more about seeing the dam than wandering around it. If you’re expecting extended free time or shopping, you’ll be disappointed.
Another note is about the group size—a maximum of 54 travelers means it can feel crowded, especially during peak season. The tour does well to organize the stops efficiently, but some may find the schedule tight.

The park ranger led tour of the dam. Was wonderful . Wish we had more than 20 minutes at Boulder City. That was just enough to use the restrooms. Everybody were so good about being back on time
It’s a large group. The tour is about 5 hours. Your guides are great and very knowledgeable. The bus is very comfortable
According to my opinion they will have great time. We all get to appreciate what humanity has accomplished when need comes.
