If you’re dreaming of exploring one of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes, this 2-day Isle of Skye tour with Timberbush Tours might just be what you need. It promises a well-organized journey through stunning scenery, historic castles, and legendary sites—great for those wanting more than just a quick stopover.

What we really like about this experience is its comprehensive itinerary, packed with must-see spots, and the fact that it’s a small group tour, which means more personal attention and fewer crowds. Plus, the guides consistently earn praise for their storytelling and local insights.

On the flip side, a potential consideration is the price, which, when you factor in the included overnight stay and visits to multiple highlights, offers good value but might seem steep for some travelers. Also, while the itinerary is packed, it does involve quite a bit of driving, so expect a full two days on the move.

Wow! What an awesome two days on the Isle of Skye! A “don’t miss” trip! Our driver/guide/historian, Mike was amazing and a true pleasure to spend two days with!

Overall, the trip was amazing. I totally loved it and gave enough time and Photo stops to places. But the only thing I feel we missed out was Old Man of Storr. Seeing from a distance wasn’t enough tbh. I would have loved to be given 2 hours more time to walk towards it and see it. Happy to skip 1.5 hrs lunch break, get a take away or something.

My wife and I had a terrific sightseeing experience with Atis. He made full use of the good weather we had and showed us some extra nuggets that were not on the itinerary. He was very knowledgeable and gave us some useful tips for our trip. Besides the amazing views that we saw enroute, Atis also stopped for an award winning fish and chips place and two nice coffee shops. As my wife said , the tour felt like a collection of Hawaii, Switzerland and Norway. I would highly recommend this two day tour instead of the one day option

This tour is best suited for adventurous travelers who love scenery, history, and folklore, and who don’t mind a somewhat structured schedule. If you’re after an immersive, hassle-free way to see Skye’s highlights with expert commentary, this could very well be your ticket.

The most amazing trip! Isle of Skye was dreamy! This was our first time doing a 2 day excursion and I definitely recommend. It was nice to have a more relaxed trip to get the most out of Skye, without having to rush.

Great trip with Liall, he was kind, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We had a great time at fairy pools!

I'm not used to bus touring, let alone a two-day overnight experience, so I was a bit nervous about this trip — but I shouldn't have worried. Alan whisked us safely to a well-planned series of destinations, timed to coincide with the need to stretch legs, grab refreshments or use a bathroom. He provided the right mix of good-humored banter and informative insight — as well as a great Scot-themed playlist for the in-between moments of the drive. Just a really well thought out and executed experience, in one of the most beautiful, moody landscapes you could ask for. (Thanks to Alan, I now know the difference between 'atmospheric' Scottish weather and 'dramatic' Scottish weather; we saw both …

Next, you’ll visit Dunvegan Castle & Gardens—home of the Clan MacLeod. While the castle admission isn’t included, the chance to walk through its historic grounds and gardens is a treat, especially with the castle’s stories and legends.

Many reviews highlight how informative guides make such stops more meaningful, as one traveler said, “Allan was an amazing orator of Scotland history and landscape.”

After a hearty lunch at Dunvegan, the tour continues with stops at Quiraing Viewpoint, Kilt Rock, the Old Man of Storr, and Lealt Falls. These are some of Skye’s most famous natural landmarks, and each offers a different perspective of the island’s rugged beauty and geological wonder.

The Old Man of Storr is a rock formation that looks like a giant figure—an iconic photo spot. A quick 10-minute stop allows for some snaps, but many travelers mention it’s worth stretching your legs if possible.

Karen was absolutely the best! Hilarious, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. Our entire two day tour was full of laughs. I appreciated the flexibility in the itinerary due to weather and we still managed to see everything with minimal rain interference. She had the best spots to stop for tea, coffee, and food. Would absolutely come and do this tour again with my kids and friends! Worth every penny.

Day 2: Fairy Pools, Castles, and Loch Ness

A little history from the driver commentary would have been nice. The accommodations were very minimal.

Owen, Our guide and driver was exceptional in every way. His service was outstanding. His knowledge and commentary were succinct and informative. He was organized and very considerate to our every need, and he was thoughtful and kind. His smiles made our day, as did his warmth and sense of humor. We consider ourselves very lucky to have had him guide us to the most beautiful and unforgettable sights the Isle of Skye has to offer. His driving skills were excellent and made us feel safe and cared for. Thank you Owen!!!

Your driver is so important to the experience. We had Fiona and she was supreme. Knowledgeable, fair, humourous, and a great driver! She made the tour interesting and engaging.

In the afternoon, the tour visits the Eilean Donan Castle for a quick photo stop. Though the castle’s entrance isn’t included, the exterior view is often called one of Scotland’s most iconic castles. Many travelers comment that even a brief stop here feels special, contributing to a sense of Scotland’s medieval charm.

The day concludes with a visit to Fort Augustus, where you can enjoy views of Loch Ness—and yes, maybe even try to spot Nessie! It’s a relaxed way to end your whirlwind two days, soaking in Scotland’s legendary lochs and landscapes.
