It’s designed for travelers who want to maximize their time, with direct pickup at the cruise port and comfortable transport on an air-conditioned coach. We’ve looked into this experience and can share what makes it worth considering—and what might give you pause.
Good overview of Florence and Pisa. Was quiet on the day we did it. Would have struggled to climb the tower in the time allocated if there had been queues though.
2nd time with this same excursion. Love how professional. This company is always on time and keeps schedule. The guides are always very funny and charming. Bus was really clean and comfortable. Loved going back and knowing my way around. Went back to all my favorite food spots and found a couple knew ones. Would probably do it again….I really enjoy Florence and the food is amazing!!! Even the Mc café doest disappoint!!!! All in all a great time!!!
The Guide/Group Leader was very well organize and gave us pointers on our way to Florence. We looked at the map together. We were a big group but it went well. She took our # or email and gave us hers in case we'd need it during the day. During the walking tour, we stopped at various point to see and admire the architecture and the history. She gave us option for lunch. At Pisa, she gave us time to explore on our own. We saw lots….
What we love about this tour is its convenience—no fuss with train schedules or local transport. Plus, the option to upgrade with guided tours or museum tickets means you can tailor the experience to your interests. On the flip side, the long day and amount of walking might be a challenge for some, especially if you’re not used to quick-paced sightseeing.
This tour suits those who enjoy a fast-paced, city-hopping adventure with opportunities to skip some attractions if needed.
If you’re someone who appreciates a well-organized, efficient way to see Florence and Pisa in one go, this could be a good pick. But if you prefer more relaxed visits, plenty of free time, or are traveling with small children, you might find this day quite hectic. It’s best suited for travelers eager to check off major sites without fuss, and who don’t mind a busy schedule.

An In-Depth Look at the Tour Experience

This shore excursion is designed for travelers who want to make the most of their limited time in port, covering both Florence and Pisa in roughly nine hours. From the start, the main advantage is pickup directly at La Spezia—no need to navigate public transportation or worry about timing.
It was fine. Very rushed and the tour guide seemed slightly uninterested. Be aware, there is not time in Florence to do both the walking tour and the academia museum. Even though we paid for both, we could not join the walking tour. Don’t pay for both if you can because it won’t work out most likely.
Very good tour guide. Takes almost 2 hrs to florence and hour and half to pisa. Was a 9.5 hr day but enjoyed it
intensive trip and fuitful trip tour guide expressed the key points very slowly and clearly the map is very useful
The coach is air-conditioned, with free Wi-Fi, which makes the journey comfortable and allows you to prep or relax during the drive.

The Itinerary Breakdown
The tour typically begins with a trip to Florence, a city that’s practically a jewel box of art, architecture, and culture. You’ll spend around three and a half hours exploring some of the most recognizable landmarks—such as the Duomo, with its stunning marble dome, the Ponte Vecchio, and Signoria Square.
These are all must-sees, and each offers timeless photo opportunities and the chance to appreciate Florence’s Renaissance grandeur.
You’ll also visit the Central Market, a lively spot where locals buy everything from fresh produce to leather goods. Many reviewers have mentioned that this Market is a highlight, offering a taste of authentic Tuscan life and culinary delights. A quick walk through this part of the city gives you a sense of Florence’s vibrant atmosphere, even if time is limited.
Tour guide was very kind. However she often walked into large crowds and it was hard to catch up to her. She would also leave us in areas to explore , then require us to return to where the bus was parked on our own. I did get turned around in Pisa and had a hard time finding the bus in Florence.
Our tour guide Lumi was just the best guide I have ever come across and I have been on hundreds of tours, she was knowledgeable and friendly coming through the bus to chat to everyone and it was very easy to understand her instructions, her commentary was interesting my friends and I felt like we were being welcomed to Italy, she really looked after everyone, the tour was the highlight of our time in Florence.
Very little time given at each location. More time was spent on the road than visiting Florence or Pisa. The walking tour was not guided and the Academia entrance tickets were delayed. It felt very rushed and almost not worth it to pay $285 (for two) to be in Florence for less than 3 hours and 1 hour in Pisa. The guide, Guida, was nice and Ricardo our driver was fun.
Optional Add-Ons
For those wanting a deeper experience, the tour offers upgrades like a guided walking tour of Florence or tickets to the Accademia Gallery, home of Michelangelo’s David. One reviewer called the guide “amazing,” highlighting how knowledgeable and clear she was, which can really elevate the experience if you opt for the extra cost.
Pisa’s Highlights
Following Florence, the journey continues to Pisa, where you’ll get about 90 minutes to take in the Piazza dei Miracoli. This is where the Leaning Tower stands as a globally recognized icon.
If you choose the option that includes climbing the Tower, you’ll need to be aware of age restrictions: children under 8 aren’t permitted to ascend. Even if you don’t climb, you can admire the incredible architecture of the Cathedral and Baptistery from outside.
Many travelers appreciate the free time here, enough to snap photos, wander the green meadow, or just relax in the shadow of the Leaning Tower. Some reviews mention that the tour tends to rush through Pisa, so don’t expect ample leisure time—you’ll mostly want to prioritize your must-see sights.
My honest opinion. I feel this tour needs to leave earlier than 9:30. We got back to the ship 40 mins late lucky we were a group and they waited or we would have all missed the ship. The whole bus was stressed out. We had to run to get back. The terminal was closing. The scanning had finished and the gangway was packed up. It was very stressful. There was no real structure to this shore excursion without paying the tour guide more money, which some people were not happy with. We had made arrangements. So we were fine. I couldn’t fault Kyko or the driver of the bus. But people that couldn’t walk fast struggled with the pace he walks at. Over all it was good but the stress of bei…
Our group experienced was AWESOME!!!! Jada was EXCELLENT!!! She informed us sooo good and we LOCED her!!!! We were soooo pleased with her service that we all so HAPPY!!
the guides were very helpful. We unfortunately was placed on wrong bus, the 3 guides worked together to get us in the right place.
Transportation and Timing
Traveling on a comfortable GT coach with Wi-Fi, the journey is quick, thanks to highway travel. The entire day is tightly scheduled, with most reviews noting that the timing is critical. You’re advised to arrive at least 15 minutes early at the meeting point, marked by staff in green shirts.
This punctuality is vital because late arrivals for the group won’t be refunded—so a little extra padding in your schedule is wise.
The return is guaranteed on time, which is a big plus if your cruise has a strict departure schedule. Many reviewers praise the professionalism of the guides and the organized nature of the trip, with some noting that the guide provided helpful maps and tips.
What Travelers Say
Many reviews highlight the guides who keep the groups moving and share interesting tidbits. One mentioned that the guide was “very patient,” especially with travelers who had late arrivals or needed assistance. Others appreciated the value for money, especially given the total time covered and the optional upgrades.
It was a very long day . We expect the tour guide to give some brief explanations but none was given. When we board back to our bus after Florence we found that the company added more passengers to the bus and we could not find seats to seat together all four members of my family
What an incredible excursion! Our guide, Giada, was truly inspiring! This is the perfect way to experience the beauty of Florence and Pisa. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour! Thank you so much, Giada, for sharing your time and experience with us!
A great tour with a great guide Kiyko. Plenty of time in Florence to explore. A little disappointed that the walking tour did not have any commentary. The info should have explained that our guide could not give us info as we walked around Florence. It should have been stated in our info. Kiyko did give us info on the bus. Very good info. No blame to him for not giving info on walk. He was not allowed too. Kiyko did not have the tour guide license. Pisa was enjoyable. The whole tour was enjoyable and time well spent. I would recommend.
However, some travelers have pointed out the pace can be quite demanding—lots of walking and quick stops. One reviewer said, “the walking tour was very fast-paced but you get to see so much,” which is true if you’re prepared for a busy day. Also, a few noted that the time in Pisa can feel rushed, especially if you want to climb the Tower or explore more leisurely.
Price and Value
At approximately $62 per person, this tour offers a lot. It’s a budget-friendly way to hit two major destinations, with the convenience of transportation and guidance. The optional extras, like museum tickets and guided walks, are paid separately but can enhance your experience. Many travelers felt they received good value considering the short duration and the quality of the guides and transport.
Possible Drawbacks
The biggest consideration is the long day and quick pace. If you prefer a more relaxed approach or are traveling with small children or people with mobility issues, this might feel overwhelming. The limited free time means you’ll be mostly seeing sights from the outside or quick visits, rather than leisurely exploring.
Some reviews also mention communication issues with some staff, especially regarding delays or group management, so it’s essential to stay alert and keep track of meeting points. Also, if your ship's schedule changes unexpectedly, the tour's flexible rescheduling policy seems reliable, but you should stay in touch with the tour provider.
Who Is This Tour Best For?

This excursion is ideal for travelers who want a quick, organized overview of Florence and Pisa without the hassle of independent transport. It’s especially suitable if you're on a cruise and need a reliable, punctual option that guarantees you back to the ship on time.
If you’re comfortable with walking and don’t mind a fast-paced day, you’ll get to see the main highlights and enjoy some optional upgrades for a richer experience.
However, if your idea of fun involves more free time, detailed explorations, or traveling with very young children, you might find this trip a bit rushed. It’s a good choice if you want a structured, cost-effective way to tick these iconic cities off your list.
