If you’re eyeing a break from the bright lights of Las Vegas and craving a taste of the Old West, this Grand Canyon Ranch Tour might catch your attention. It’s a full-day adventure that promises authentic cowboy experiences, scenic views, and a bit of history—all wrapped into a roughly 7-hour trip.
From what we’ve gathered, what makes this tour appealing is the chance to enjoy horseback riding or a covered wagon ride through historic ranch land, combined with a stop at the engineering marvel that is Hoover Dam. We also love that the tour includes luxury, round-trip transfers, removing the hassle of logistics, and that it’s suitable for those who want an easy, guided escape into Arizona’s wild landscapes.
One thing to keep in mind is that the tour is designed for those who are comfortable with outdoor activities—it’s not ideal for visitors with mobility issues or recent surgeries. Plus, since it’s a 7-hour experience with a good amount of outdoor time, it’s best suited for those prepared for a moderate adventure.
Had the most wonderful day! Tyler our driver went out of his way to pick us up as we were not coming from Las Vegas we were staying in Arizona. Reba was excellent communication via email re: the same. Also Casey was a gentleman telling us stories of the ranch & singing beautiful songs. Colton was my guide for the horseriding he was so calm & helpful & informative about the land. All the staff were super friendly & helpful & John brought my cousin on the wagon ride & again he was a gentleman & very informative about the ranch & land. Went for my birthday on new year's eve it was the best birthday I've ever had. Thank you everyone 🙂
We had the most amazing day from start to finish. Tylur collected us from our hotel and couldn't do enough for us to make our journey to the Hoover Dam and Ranch comfortable. When we arrived at the Ranch we had a warm welcome and Colton took us out on horseback, he was great fun and really knowledgable, the views were stunning and we had a fantastic experience. We had the ribs for lunch, they were the best I've ever had and Cowboy Dave provided the entertainment which was hilarious and really added to the experience We had the best time. Everyone at the Ranch really made the experience special for us! Thank you all! We will be back!
What an experience. We had already seen the grand canyon itself, so I am delighted we opted for something different here. Our driver was friendly and helpful, our wrangler guide was brilliant and the food was stunning. The experience of trotting horseback through such a beautiful place is one I will remember for the rest of my life, and everyone on the ranch was so welcoming and friendly that the whole day became an absolute dream. We couldn't recommend this experience highly enough.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, low-effort sightseeing day, this might be a good fit. If you’re after a quick glance or want to see the Grand Canyon itself, you might want to consider other options.
Overall, if you’re craving a blend of history, scenic beauty, and engaging outdoor fun, this tour offers a compelling experience. It’s particularly great for those interested in cowboy culture, wildlife, and impressive vistas, with plenty of authentic touches along the way.

From the minute we were picked up the experience was great. Kevin our driver was very knowledgeable, welcoming and funny. All staff at the ranch provided a warm friendly environment. The horseback riding was a surreal experience and the ranger again was very friendly and knowledgeable making the trip enjoyable. Food after the ride was 10/10. Would highly recommend this trip to everyone!
Great Day in Arizona. Kevin our driver was finny and his storys are funny. The ranch is super cute and the horse back riding was beatiful with good views over the moutains and watching buffels & cows. (1 hour horse ride) Lunch after was perfect. Best ribbs in town. Thank you so much!
The ranch trip and horseback riding was fantastic from start to end – absolutely worth the cost and great value, would highly recommend to anyone thinking about it. Communication to organise transport was clear, pick up was as per instructions, and Hoover Dam photo stop as planned. Myself and my friend were both beginners and the guide was great with clear instructions. He gave us lots of great information, made sure no one was left behind and took some photos for us. Back at the ranch, the ribs for lunch were fantastic and all the staff were super friendly, with music played for us and a bit of history about the ranch given. The trip was a welcome break from the busy city for us!
Horseback Ride: This 45-minute guided ride is perfect for beginners, with gentle horses well-trained for those new to riding. You’ll saddle up in genuine Western gear and follow your guide through the Joshua Trees along the Mormon Trail. The ride culminates at Buffalo Point, where panoramic views of Spirit and Iron Mountain await, and you'll have plenty of opportunities for photos of wild buffalo in the distance.
Wagon Ride: Alternatively, you might opt for a covered wagon pulled by Belgian Draft Horses. This relaxed ride echoes the pioneers’ journey along the old Mormon trail, with your cowboy guide sharing stories about the land, wildlife, and the ranch’s history. Upon reaching Buffalo Point, you’ll see buffalo in their natural habitat, with the added experience of a time-travel feel as you follow the trail used by early settlers.
