If you’re thinking about seeing Niagara Falls after dark, this night tour from the Canadian side might just be your best bet. It’s designed for those who want to combine breathtaking views with some extra special touches—think a gourmet dinner, the chance to control the falls’ lighting, and a spectacular light and sound show.
What caught our eye? First, the 3-course dinner right by the water sounds like a real treat. And second, the opportunity to light up the falls yourself adds a fun, interactive element that makes the experience memorable. That said, the tour lasts around four hours, so it’s a good fit if you’re comfortable with a bit of evening activity.
One thing to consider is that this experience isn’t suitable for wheelchair users, so it’s not perfect if you’re traveling with someone who has mobility challenges. This tour works best for those who want a romantic, scenic, and interactive evening—great for couples, friends, or anyone eager to see Niagara in a different light.
Our tour guide Oscar was amazing, great conversation and history, throughly enjoyed the entire tour. A must do if you are visiting Niagara Falls on the Canadian side.
Wonderful tour! Our tour driver (Alan) was great! We had a few delays in the beginning due to travel times but he was very accommodating and adjusted our times accordingly. Dinner was amazing along with the view, getting to light the waterfalls was fun and had a great spot to watch the fireworks from.
Best thing we did in Niagra Falls! Tour was fabulous! Power station and tunnel were awesome! Dinner was ok, but view was fabulous! Being able to control the lights on the falls is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Dinner on the Edge of the Water
The first highlight is the 3-course dinner at a restaurant right beside the falls. This isn’t just a meal with a view; it’s a chance to savor locally sourced and internationally inspired cuisine while soaking in one of the world’s most iconic natural sights. Picture dining with a direct view of the Horseshoe Falls, the roar of the water providing a dramatic backdrop.
Based on reviews, the food gets good marks, though some mention it’s not gourmet cuisine—more about the experience and view than culinary perfection.
Lighting Up the Falls at Illumination Tower
Next, you’ll visit the Illumination Tower, where the magic really begins. You’re given the chance to control the lights that paint the falls in a spectrum of colors—think of it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the artist behind the show.
Nikola was fantastic! Made you feel like a friend. Very polite and knowledgeable, would do it again.
Was over the top. FABOLOUS. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. Dinner was great! The Power Plant was interesting – the light show was a bonus along with the tunnel. The final was being able to control the lights on the falls. What an experience !!!!!!!!
everything was great. food, tour, history, and guide
Guests have described this part as very fun and interactive. Plus, you receive an “I Lit Up Niagara Falls” certificate as a keepsake, which adds a memorable touch.
More Great Tours NearbyThe Power Station & the Currents Show
From there, your tour takes you to the Niagara Parks Power Station for the “Currents” light and sound show. This isn’t just a static display; it features 3D projections, interactive elements, and a musical score that transform the space into an immersive experience.
Reviewers have praised the show as “fabulous” and “interesting,” with one even saying the tunnel walk underneath the station to the base of the falls was “awesome.”
The Finale: Fireworks & The Falls Up Close
The tour’s climax is a walk through a tunnel beneath the power station to a platform right at the foot of Horseshoe Falls. Here, you’ll get a front-row view of the fireworks display, lighting up the night sky and reflecting off the water. Many reviews highlight how spectacular this is, especially if you’re lucky enough to be there on a clear night.
Very informative and a lot of fun! Tunnel walk was awesome! Started to snow too. Food was really good! Loved getting to play with the lights on the falls.
Meeting the operator of the lights and changing the color of the waterfalls
The tour was amazing. The food at Table Rick was good (although I would have liked beef on the menu). The service left a lot to be desired. It took forever to get drinks, apps, meals, etc. Bill, the man that runs the lights in the tower was amazing. Very knowledgeable and was kind enough to spend a little extra time with us (my husband being an electrician had a lot of questions)! I would highly recommend this tour.
Wrapping Up and Optional Exploration
As the night winds down, your guide can suggest further activities or you can stay and explore on your own. The experience ends with a cozy, awe-inspiring view of the illuminated falls, complemented by the fireworks if scheduled.
What’s Included and How It Adds Value

This is a very unique, one of a kind tour behind the scenes of lighting of the falls at night. Dinner at Table Rock restaurant included, with a nice, up close view of the falls. We also got an up close view of the nightly fireworks. Definitely worth it, and our tour guide Cheryl Green was awesome and knowledgeable as a long time local.
Clarity on the restaurant While the restaurant was great it was a different one that was advertised
