If you’re considering the Pai Pai tour in Ensenada, you’re likely curious about what it offers and whether it’s worth your time and money. While I haven’t experienced it myself, reviews and detailed descriptions paint a pretty clear picture. This tour promises a mix of animal encounters, sightseeing, and tequila tasting—something that can appeal to families, couples, or groups eager for a relaxed yet engaging day out.
What we really like about this experience is the opportunity to get up close with baby lions, tigers, and jaguars, which sounds perfect for animal lovers or those traveling with kids. The inclusion of a sightseeing tour of Ensenada adds a nice touch, giving you a broader taste of the region beyond just the animal park. Plus, the chance to sample 20 different flavors of sweet tequila sounds like a fun way to indulge a bit.
However, a key consideration is that activities inside Pai Pai Ecotourism Park are not included in the price, and tickets for animal encounters come as an extra expense. This means if petting the animals or the tequila tasting is a must-do for you, it’ll add to your overall cost. Also, some reviews mention that the tour’s description and the actual experience didn’t always align perfectly, so managing expectations is smart.
Our guide Brayan was very good, helpful and glad we had him. Tour does not pay for Pai Pai tickets, but probably our fault for not reading. Good location and fun day for little kids.
Alex was an incredibly interesting, wonderful guide who knew exactly where we were going and how best to maximize our time. Companionable, smart, and engaging, she is an excellent host for the beautiful city of Ensenada.
Brian was fabulous. We had such a great time and he personalized the tour for just us. Pai Pai was a treat. The animals are well taken care of and just a great staff. We will be back!!
All in all, this tour seems best suited for those looking for a relaxed, family-friendly outing that combines animal interaction with local sights. If you’re okay with optional extras and like the idea of a flexible, personalized experience, it could be a good choice.

Reviews note that the transport is private, which means no crowded buses or confusing group arrangements—just your party and a friendly guide.
Visiting Pai Pai Ecotourism Park
The main draw is undoubtedly Pai Pai Ecotourism Park, where you get the chance to interact with baby animals like lions, tigers, jaguars, lemurs, and mini pigs. One of the standout features is that visitors can go inside with many of these animals and play—though it’s essential to note that the cost for this animal interaction isn’t included. This often surprises travelers, so be prepared for an extra fee if you want to get closer.
The reviews highlight that the animals are well cared for and that staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Several visitors appreciated the personal touch—guides like Brayan and Alex went above and beyond to make their day special. One review even mentions that a guide showed a local spot with fantastic fresh fish, adding a local flavor to the experience.
The Animal Experience: Is It Worth It?
If you love animals or enjoy close encounters, this part of the tour could be a highlight. However, since activity prices are separate, it’s worth checking ahead or budgeting extra if petting animals is a priority. Many reviews describe the experience as fun, especially for small kids, with one reviewer mentioning that it’s a “good location and fun day for little kids.”
Tequila Tasting
The tequila tasting is another feature that draws attention. You get to sample 20 different flavors of sweet tequila, which sounds like a delightful way to experience local craftsmanship. For adults, it offers a chance to indulge and learn about local spirits in a relaxed setting.
Brayan was a fantastic guide! Made sure we had a relaxing wonderful day! Pai pai was neat for those that want an up close experience with the big cats. Would recommend Brayan to anyone!!
We had a great day with Brayan! PaiPai was great and we still had time to go to the blowhole , get some tacos and do some shopping.
The local tour guide, Brayan ("Brian") was excellent in terms of knowledge and expertise. He went WAAAYYY above and beyond expectations. He even showed us his favorite local place for the best fresh fish and incredible, enormous local oysters. I highly recommend this tour. The PaiPai experience is a little pricey but like nothing else we have done. It is a small ecoparque but you really can get very close to some amazing animals. We loved feeding the tiger but the best part for all us us (8 year old son included) was going into the enclosure and feeding the small monkeys while they sat on our shoulders.
Sightseeing & Other Stops
After the animal park, the tour includes a sightseeing drive through Ensenada. Reviewers mention enjoying stops at beaches, markets, and museums, giving travelers a well-rounded taste of the city. The flexibility during the drive is appreciated—some reviewers remembered stopping at favorite local eateries or shops, which adds a personal touch.
Timing & Pacing
The entire experience lasts about 4 hours, making it a manageable half-day outing. This allows plenty of time for animal interaction, sightseeing, and tequila sampling without feeling rushed. It also leaves room for spontaneous stops or a quick walk along the beach.
The Price and Overall Value
At $50 per person, the tour is reasonably priced, especially considering private transportation. Still, since activities inside Pai Pai Park are not included, it’s a good idea to consider the additional costs if you want to pet the animals or try specific activities. The reviews suggest that many find the price fair, especially given the personalized service and access to unique experiences.
Who Will Love This Tour?
This experience is particularly well-suited for families with children, animal lovers, and curious travelers who enjoy a relaxed pace. People interested in local spirits will also appreciate the tequila tasting. If you’re expecting a fully inclusive, all-in-one experience, keep in mind that some activities require extra payment.
Final Thoughts

The Pai Pai tour offers a charming blend of animal encounters, city sights, and local flavors. The personal touches from guides like Alex and Brayan make it stand out, creating a more intimate experience than large group tours. While the extra costs for animal activities and the potential for slightly misaligned expectations are worth noting, most reviews point to a fun, memorable day.
If you enjoy seeing animals up close, sampling local spirits, and exploring a new city without feeling hurried, this tour could be a solid fit. Just prepare for the possibility of extra expenses if animal interactions are a priority and be sure to manage your expectations about what’s included.
