Good & organised tour. Pick up time was good and the coach was nice and clean. The tour took you to all the places you’d like to see and you got to spend enough time everywhere. Would recommend.

Wow! such a fantastic trip. Full day of volcanoes, first timanfaya national park, the coach goes around the volcanoes and through the lava field. Spectacular views, demonstration of how hot it is under the ground near the restaurant. Visit to the green cave, loved walking around the lava tunnel with our tour guide. The last stop at jameos del agua with the sea pool where tiny albino crabs live was lovely. Great day out was picked up from hotel and dropped off too. Tour guide roland was brilliant loads of information about lanzarotes history and the places we visited. Really recommend this tour if you want a great day and want to see a bit more of the island.

Expériences and car tour in Timanfaya National Park. Guide Roland is excellent. We had enough time to see all what was in the programm.

However, a potential consideration is the somewhat lengthy travel time between stops, which might mean more sitting in the coach than actual sightseeing for some.

This tour suits visitors who want a comprehensive, hassle-free overview of Lanzarote’s highlights, especially if you prefer guided tours over self-exploration.

Catching Lanzarote’s Volcanoes at Timanfaya National Park

The day kicks off early at 8:30 am from Lanzarote’s meeting point. The first stop is the Timanfaya Volcano, where you’ll have about 55 minutes to explore. This site is the star of the tour, famous for its lunar-like landscape formed by volcanic eruptions centuries ago. What makes this visit stand out is the included ticket, which helps you skip the often long lines, letting you get right to the fun.

You’ll witness some geothermal demonstrations—a neat trick where they show how hot the ground remains underground, with food cooked using volcanic heat. We loved the way the tour allows you to get close to the volcanic terrain without the hassle of waiting or navigating on your own. As one reviewer shared, “the volcanic experience was great,” and the coach’s roundabout drive through lava fields offers incredible views of the rugged landscape.

Exploring the Green Cave: Cueva de los Verdes

Next, the journey takes you to the Cueva de los Verdes, another highlight. This lava tube offers a chance to walk inside and marvel at the natural formations carved by ancient eruptions. With about 55 minutes here, you’ll get a sense of the island’s volcanic history and the impressive natural engineering of lava tunnels.

Reviewers mention that their guides, like Paul and Michael, explained the caves’ formation clearly and with enthusiasm, making this stop both educational and awe-inspiring. The cave’s cool interior provides a nice break from the sun, and the natural light filtering through cracks creates beautiful effects. It’s worth noting that some reviews noted that Jameos del Agua, another cave, was smaller and perhaps less impressive than expected—they appreciated the Green Caves’ natural size and authenticity more.

Our excellent tour guide gave really clear explanation. He had to speak both French and English so he divided the group into two. Explanation and directions were then provided so that we could all benefit whilst not standing around waiting for the other group. The driver skillfully took us around Timanfaya and we stopped at a couple of nice places for wine and a meal. Many thanks to the tour guide. I didn't get his name but I have seen some of the places 3 times, others twice and without a doubt he was the very best tour guide. Top tip. Don't miss the new volcano exhibition at Jameos del Agua. It's at the top behind the bar/ coffee shop and before the gift shop

Great tour. Our guide Michael was informative and made the tour enjoyable. The whole experience was great

The tour itself was fine and interesting. However the booking and pick-up process was unsatisfactory. We could not book on the tripadvisor website with our credit card (security issue with the site) so we had to phone viator in Scotland and they emailed me a different link that worked. The pick up location (a hotel in Matagorda) and time (8.30am) was agreed on the phone, at payment and in the confirmation email. No one came and when we called the trip organiser, they told us they had no record of a pick up at that hotel. We could be picked up at a neighbouring hotel, although the pick up time there was 9.20 so we headed over there. When the bus came, they had no record of our booking but acc…

Mirador del Río and Other Highlights

While the main stops are the volcano and caves, the tour also includes a panoramic view at Mirador del Río (though not explicitly listed in the itinerary, it’s often associated with Lanzarote tours). The views from this lookout are spectacular, offering sweeping vistas over the island and neighboring islands.

Additional Stops and Experiences

The tour also visits Jameos del Agua, a volcanic tunnel turned cultural site, famed for its unique lakes and artistic touches—created by Lanzarote's celebrated artist César Manrique. Although some reviews indicated this stop might feel slightly rushed, most appreciated the insight guides offered.

Transportation, Duration, and Group Size

The entire tour lasts about 7 to 8 hours, starting early in the morning and returning to the starting point. The air-conditioned vehicle makes the lengthy travel between sites comfortable, especially given the sometimes narrow or winding roads. With a maximum of 48 travelers, the group size is moderate, allowing for a more personal experience without feeling crowded.

The timing and organization receive positive feedback. Many travelers appreciated how the breaks were well planned, providing enough time at each spot to enjoy without feeling rushed. That being said, some reviews pointed out that the initial pick-up and waiting times could be improved, with a few experiencing delays or multiple coach swaps.
