If you’re heading to Dubrovnik and looking for a way to escape the crowds and see some of the area’s best-kept secrets, a private boat tour to the Elafiti Islands could be just what you need. We haven’t done this exact tour ourselves, but based on a lot of glowing reviews and detailed info, it promises a relaxed, personalized way to experience Croatia’s stunning coastline.
What really appeals? First, the exclusivity of cruising just with your group means no crowded ferries or large tours. Second, the access to exclusive spots like caves and hidden beaches, which you can’t easily reach on your own. On the downside, the tour clocks in at just around four hours, so if you’re craving a full-day adventure or multiple stops, you might find it a touch brief.
This tour suits travelers who want a stress-free, intimate experience with beautiful scenery and some fun swimming opportunities. It’s particularly great if you love swimming, snorkeling, and sipping wine while soaking up the views. If you’re traveling as a couple, with friends, or even a small family, this could be a perfect fit — just be aware it’s designed for small groups, so don’t expect a big party vibe.
THE BEST!! Orsat is literally the best skipper in Dubrovnik! We booked a half day earlier in the week and loved it so much that we had to book a full day! Highly recommend! He showed us some of the best sites we could’ve never even imagined to find! On our half day it was exceptional, but the full day was everything!!!! Book now 🙂
This was a highlight of our trip! If you are even considering it, book this trip! We did the 4 hour boat ride and our skipper Marijo was great! They were super flexible on what islands to visit and where to stop to let us junk out to swim. We went in late March and it was a beautiful day
Had a great afternoon of fun with skipper Nikola on board Orlando. Maro was excellent at communicating so we knew exactly where to pick up the boat from. Unfortunately the sea was not in our favour on the day of the trip as was very rough! One of our party was anxious and needed to get off the boat and Nikola accommodated this and had to alter the trip itinerary a little, but those that remained on board still had a great afternoon despite the choppy waves! Would definitely recommend this trip, its the personal touches that make it – thank you Nikola and Dubrovnik Costal Beauty. Would not hesitate to do this trip again and next time maybe mother nature will bless us with a calmer sea.

Kolocep Island: A Natural Sanctuary
Your first stop is Kolocep Island, often praised as a quiet, peaceful escape. Just about 20 minutes from Dubrovnik, it’s the perfect introduction to the archipelago’s natural beauty. The highlight here is a visit to the Blue Cave, famous for its glowing blue waters. Visitors have described the experience as “magical,” thanks to sunlight casting dazzling colors on the white sandy floor — a truly special sight that’s only accessible by boat or kayak.
Close by is the Green Cave, where the water tone shifts to a different shade. While the reviews don’t specify much about Green Cave’s features, it’s noted as a nearby attraction worth visiting. The boat allows you to get close enough to appreciate these natural wonders, with plenty of opportunities to swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters.
Lopud Island: Beach Days and Relaxation
Next, your route takes you to Lopud, renowned for its stunning beach and lively, laid-back atmosphere. With around 2 hours here, you’ll have ample time for swimming, lounging, or even trying out some beach games like picigin.
This island’s popularity stems from its inviting beaches, where you can relax under the sun, and its selection of bars and restaurants. Guests have raved about the beautiful beaches and the chance to indulge in fresh local food and drinks. Some reviews mention that the skipper is flexible with timing, allowing you to enjoy your time as you see fit.
A perfect company and must do excursion to see the beautiful sites in and around Dubrovnik. I would give this booking 100 stars if I could. Within an hour of booking Maro contacted me via whats app messages to confirm my booking and let me know he is available if I have any questions. I sent him several questions over the following days before my excursion and he always responded promptly with great feedback. Luka was our captain and he was perfect! He grew up in Dubrovnik and knew all of the great views and locations. He took time to ask us what are interests are and then took us to everything we wanted to do/see and more! He always got us the best parking space for the boat when at …
What a beautiful and amazing day. The tour operator worked with us to provide an easy pickup and drop off point. Our captain, Nicola, was charming and knowledgeable. The boat was clean and comfortable. The current and waves made for a challenging swim in the crystal clear water. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The Dubrovnik Coastal Beauty team were amazing! We booked this outing last minute and they were super helpful and personable getting everything together for us. Maro helped connected with us at the Old Port and our skipper made the day super fun! We had lunch at a nearby island and could take our time swimming, and stopping at various caves along the way. Our skipper let us play music and make the boat feel like our own. They even let us have a little extra time on the water after a slight start time delay, and arranged a taxi to take us back home afterward. THANK YOU so much for a fab afternoon!
Drinks, Snorkeling, and Fun on the Water
Throughout the trip, your group will enjoy unlimited beer, wine, water, and soft drinks. This is a big plus because it adds a relaxed, social element to the day without worrying about extra costs. Plus, the boat comes equipped with snorkeling gear, towels, and a Bluetooth music player to enhance your experience.
Snorkeling in the caves or just in the clear waters of the islands is often highlighted as a favorite activity. Reviewers mention challenging swims with waves and currents, so be prepared for some water fun, especially if you're a confident swimmer.
The Pros and Cons: Finding the Balance

Based on the reviews, this tour delivers great value and a memorable experience. The chance to visit caves and secluded beaches with just your group is a significant perk that many travelers appreciate. The boat’s comfort, the flexible itinerary, and the inclusive drinks add to its appeal.
However, some might find the four-hour duration a bit limiting — especially if you’re keen to explore more islands or spend more time at each stop. Also, since the tour is priced at $899.20 for up to 10 people, it’s most cost-effective for groups — if you’re solo or a couple, it might seem a bit pricey, but you’re paying for exclusivity and flexibility.

Considerations Before Booking
Keep in mind that the trip depends on good weather — if conditions aren’t favorable, it might be canceled or rescheduled. Make sure to plan your day with some flexibility. Also, if you’re particularly interested in a longer exploration or more islands, this tour might feel a bit brief. But for a taste of the Elafiti Islands and a calming day on the water, it hits the mark.
