If you’re dreaming of slipping away from the hustle and bustle of Genoa and soaking up the stunning vistas of the Ligurian coast, this private boat excursion to Portofino might just be what you’re looking for. From what we’ve seen, it’s a thoughtfully curated way to experience this glamorous seaside village and its surroundings—without the crowds and chaos that often come with land-based visits.

What really caught our eye about this tour? First, its personalized nature—it’s a private experience, so you’re not stuck with strangers, and your guide, Rocco, apparently makes a real effort to keep things flexible and fun. Second, the variety of stops and activities—options for snorkeling, lounging, exploring charming villages, and swimming in protected waters make it feel like a full day of adventure on the water.

That said, one thing to keep in mind is the cost, which is around $528 per person. For some, that might seem steep, but considering the private nature and the included equipment, it could be justified if you’re after a more exclusive, relaxed experience.

The day of the boat Tour, we met Rocco at the identified pick up location. The boat was equipped with snorkeling equipment, life jackets that we would need for our day. Our first stop was just before Portofino. There Rocco guided us on where to find the statues under the water. He provided a rich history of the bunkers located on the island. After our first swim, Rocco drove us to Portofino and guided us on where to shop and sites to see. After our visit , he provided us with an excellent seafood restaurant recommendation. After lunch , he took a few of us tubing in the sea. Rocco was polite, charismatic and great guide. He made our visit to Genoa enjoyable. I highly recommend h…
