If you’re considering a trip to Tenerife and want to see Teide National Park without spending hours on foot, a guided quad bike tour might catch your eye. This experience promises a lively, efficient way to explore the volcanic landscape, reach impressive viewpoints, and get your adrenaline going—all in about four hours.

From what we’ve gathered, many visitors find this tour offers a great mix of scenic views, expert guidance, and convenient logistics. We like that it includes pickup from popular southern resorts like Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos, saving you the hassle of planning transport. Plus, it’s led by guides who share interesting tidbits about the park’s geology and history.

However, a point worth considering is that off-road riding isn’t part of this experience—something that might disappoint those expecting to “drive off the beaten path.” Instead, you’ll mostly be riding on paved roads or trails, which still provide impressive views but may feel less adventurous for some.

Wasn't what i was expecting/was sold by the advertising. Advertising stated that you will experience a "4.5hr experience", infact you are only on the ATV for approx 2.5hrs! "You will see great views of the forest" supported with photos showing there would be an element of trail riding and you would see another perspective. You will indeed get to drive an ATV and see the national park, but you will only drive up the same asphalt road as every other tour bus. The only time my wheels went off the asphalt was to pull to the side and wait while the guide sorted another rider whose vehicle had broken down. Maybe road tyres would be more economical and safer than off road tyres. It is a national pa…

we had a great time! everything was very accessible and perfect for all ages and abilities. the guides were fantastic and very helpful. the photos were worth the extra price as well!

Ultimately, this tour suits travelers who want a timed, guided exploration with excellent viewpoints, especially if you’re short on time or prefer an easier, safer way to see Teide’s highlights. It’s also well-suited for those who appreciate comfort, convenience, and good value.

  • Great for time-conscious travelers wanting a quick but scenic experience
  • Pickup included from major resorts, making logistics simpler
  • Guided tour ensures you won’t need to study maps or worry about directions
  • Mostly paved roads and trails—not off-road, so expect a more relaxed ride
  • Incredible views from Teide Peak and the volcanic landscape
  • Limited group size (maximum 4 travelers) for a more personalized experience

Imagine zipping across volcanic trails, with the crisp mountain air on your face, and panoramic views unfolding around you. This is precisely what you get from the Quad Tour Volcano Teide By Day. It’s a straightforward, accessible way to get a sense of Tenerife’s most iconic natural wonder, especially if you’re pressed for time or prefer a guided experience.

The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos—a big plus for those staying in the south, eliminating the need to figure out transport. Once at the meeting point, you’re welcomed and given a brief introduction to the quads and safety instructions by an experienced guide.

The small group size (up to 4 people) keeps things intimate, and guides often take the time to answer questions, making the experience feel more personalized.

The guides were fun but their english skills weren't the best. The trip was great, so many beautiful views, the guide took great photos and videos of everyone (they cost extra 30 EUR). Also the guides took very clever and funny photos by Teide with each traveler and couple. There were some problems with bikes (I guess) cause there almost were three major accidents where the riders quad steering handles locked to one side and the riders almost hit rocks/other cars but maybe it was user error. Anyway, everyone was safe and no real accidents happened, our quad bike was a bit hard to handle – heavy on turning. Gear – jackets are extra four eur, and they don't provide hair nets under the helmets…

Nice staff and beautiful views. It was a little different than we originally envisioned, given that most of the trek was driving on the paved roads, but it was a lot of fun with some incredible views. Also, the guides did provide some historical and geographical insights which helped round out the journey. Added bonus with a dirt track ride at the end for some dusty quad fun.

Wow! Soooo much fun! Seeing Mt Tiede on quads was amazing, I can't imagine taking those corners on a tour van or bus 😳 The tour guides were phenomenal, safety first which I really appreciated! The 1/2 day included the trip up the mountain, back down with a stop at a local restaurant, you have to try a Barraquito, a multi layered coffee drink specific to the Canary Islands, delicious!! Before heading back, we stopped for some 'off roading' on the quads. It was fun but not my favorite part, it was a little too dusty for me. The other 'younger' riders really liked it though. Helpful hints: The ride is chilly but when you stop for views, the sun is hot so wear layers and preferably not whit…

The Itinerary Breakdown

Stop 1: Volcan El Teide and the Park

Quad Tour Volcano Teide By Day in Teide National Park - Stop 1: Volcan El Teide and the Park

Your journey on the quad kicks off with a ride through the winding trails of Teide National Park. While many might expect off-road riding, the reality is that the tour sticks mostly to paved roads or designated trails—no true off-road like some adventure tours promise.

This might be a drawback for thrill-seekers who hope to really carve into the landscape, but it still offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery.

Many reviews highlight the spectacular views on this tour. One traveler raved, “The views were great,” and others appreciated the stunning landscapes, volcanic craters, and the chance to reach Teide Peak. The guides are lauded for their friendliness and ability to share interesting facts, making the ride more engaging.

The Ride and Stops

Expect a roughly 2.5-hour riding time, with plenty of stops for photos, brief rests, and to take in the scenery. Some reviewers have noted that the ride is mostly on paved roads, so if you’re dreaming of an off-road adventure, this might not meet your expectations. The focus here is on sightseeing and a fun ride, rather than technical driving.

I had a great time! you get a long ride on the quads but with good ammount of break in between to strech your legs and take in the views! The tour guides were excellent, would 100% recommend this to all!!

Was booking the same tour with TUI fkr nearly twice as much . Great tour guides and great service they really look after you and make sure your safe in the quads . (Tip take a coat as freezing at top

One reviewer mentioned, “I expected to go off-road and ride solo, but it was mostly on paved roads at high speeds,” which is a common point of confusion. The tour description does not specify off-road riding, and Tenerife’s national park prohibits off-road activities in certain areas, including Teide.

The Summit and Views

While the highlight is reaching Teide Peak for that breathtaking panoramic view, some reviews express disappointment that the summit isn’t always included. That said, reaching higher altitudes on a quad bike allows for incredible vistas that are hard to match.

Another reviewer commented, “The guides were fun, but their English skills weren’t the best,” which highlights that language barriers might exist. Still, most found the guides helpful and entertaining, emphasizing safety and fun.

Superbe 🤩 le top guide incroyable paysage à couper le souffle 💨 des souvenirs incroyables et a jamais graver dans nos souvenirs de Tenerif 😄👍👍👍👍👍👍

However, the tour’s price point—around $161 for two people—is generally seen as fair considering the guided service, scenic stops, and included pickup.

Others appreciated the well-organized logistics: “Punctual pickup, helpful guides, and beautiful scenery,” said a traveler. Several reviews also mention that photos and videos are available for extra charge, which some found worthwhile, especially since the guides often capture the group’s moments.

The tour kicks off with a hotel pickup, usually from Costa Adeje or Los Cristianos, offering a smooth start. Once at the meeting point in Plaza Salytien, you’ll gear up with a helmet, and possibly a jacket if you want extra protection, depending on the weather. Clarify beforehand if you need to rent or pay extra for protective gear.

After a brief safety briefing, you’ll be given your quad and paired with a guide who will lead the way. The riding itself lasts around 2.5 hours, with frequent stops to enjoy viewpoints and take photos. The ride climbs gradually, leading you to scenic vistas that showcase Teide’s volcanic landscape in full glory.

Most travelers find the views worth the ride, with many quoting how incredible the scenery is. The balance between guided narration and free time for photos adds to the experience, making it feel relaxed yet engaging.
