Our guide Jolen curated a fantastic cycling tour. We saw most of the city’s iconic attractions and learnt a great deal about the Basque culture and language. I would highly recommend the tour

Guide showed up late. Long walk to bike store where we were given a low quality bicycle, and the staff person didn’t even know how to set up for the right height (I had to adjust it myself later on as we were already moving). Julien was knowledgeable about the area history but at times it was frustrating because he would be giving tour information while we were moving or while others were away, so we couldn’t hear it. Overall, I felt like we basically rented a bike to take it to the end of Onderetta beach and got a few tidbits about Googleable San Sebastián history. He was nice, though and very friendly, it’s just that we’ve done bike tours in several places in Europe and this was b…

The highlight of this experience is undoubtedly the route itself. You start at the Buen Pastor Cathedral, a striking religious building that also marks the central meeting point. From there, it’s a smooth ride along the famous La Concha Beach, where you’ll see the famous golden sands and learn about its royal bathing history.

The tour was great, our tour guide was excellent! The bike route was easy with incredible views. You get to see a lot of the area and learn about the local culture. I would highly recommend it. We took our 8 yo daughter and she really enjoyed it.

Our guide Jonathon was very informative which made the tour extremely interesting , the 2.5hrs flew by.

The impressive villas lining the promenade echo San Sebastián’s Belle Époque glamour, making this stretch both scenic and culturally interesting.

Next, you’ll visit the Peine del Viento, an iconic sculpture at Monte Igeldo’s foot, where the water jets synchronized with the tide create a mesmerizing display. Many reviews mention this as a favorite photo spot, and it’s easy to see why—just imagine standing there with the waves crashing around you.

Our research shows that this stop is often appreciated for its spectacular design and natural water show, especially at high tide.

Fun tour and we covered a lot of the city. The guide was very knowledgable and told us a lot about the history of the city. The only downside we were a big group and only one guide, it would have been really useful to have a second guide at the back as its hard to keep a big group together when crossing traffic lights etc.

Very enjoyable cycle around the coast . Our guide gave us a great resume of the city’s history . Thank you

Moving on, you’ll cross the Maria Cristina Bridge to approach the Hotel Maria Cristina—a glamorous hotel where celebrities stay during the San Sebastián Film Festival. Despite its glamour, it’s also a site with scars from the Spanish Civil War, adding a layer of historical depth.

Further along, the tour brings you to Victoria Eugenia Antzokia—a prestigious cultural venue—and the Kursaal Congress Centre, which hosts the Festival’s main event. Many reviews mention how the exterior architecture of Kursaal is impressive, offering fantastic views of Zurriola Beach and adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.

Nice way to see the city and cover more ground than simply walking. Bikes are very basic but this tour is mostly flat. Our guide was kind and explained the basic sights to us.
Jodi P
The route taken around the beautiful city and Oceanside and beaches was stunning. Great way to familiarize yourself with the layout of San Sebastián

The value for money is frequently praised, especially when considering the amount of ground covered and the variety of sights visited. A common theme is the informative guides who share not just facts but also engaging stories about the city’s history and culture.

On the flip side, weather can be a wildcard. A few reviews mention riding in the rain, which can dampen the experience slightly, but the tour still offers a good overview. Some mention basic bikes, so if you’re an experienced cyclist or want more comfortable bikes, checking availability of e-bikes might be worthwhile.
