We had an absolutely incredible time on our cave tour with Patrick! From start to finish, everything was so well organized. The price was fair, the gear they provided was in good shape, and most importantly, we always felt completely safe. We were visiting Mallorca on a cruise and managed to fit this tour into our port day. Our ship arrived an hour late, but the team adjusted the start time so we wouldn’t miss out. The pickup was scheduled just outside the exit from the port and the ride over was comfortable. Huge thanks to Patrick and the whole Experience Mallorca crew for such a memorable day. We highly recommend booking with them!

Fantastic experience, cannot recommend enough. Was in Palma for one day on a cruise. Picked up from just outside the cruise terminal by our guide. She was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable . The caves themselves are amazing

This is a great adventure, a highlight of my week in Mallorca. A walk/hike, ocean swim, cave exploration and hike back all in one. Guide Jose was great, that guy can park a van in the smallest spaces. This trip is not for the weak though. You do have to walk/hike out to the location, get into a wetsuit (while likely sweaty), swim into the mighty Med toward a cave, then walk and sometimes crawl around in a cave, swim back out, change out of wetsuit and hike back. If you like adventure and are down for a cave exploration, this is a good one. If you aren’t a confident swimmer, it could be a little unnerving to be out there. You can do it, you’ll just need to trust the life jacket will keep …

On the flip side, it’s worth noting that this tour is quite active, requiring at least a moderate level of fitness, and weather conditions can sometimes affect the experience.

This tour suits adventurers, nature lovers, or anyone eager to see Mallorca from a different perspective. If you’re comfortable swimming, walking, and crawling in tight spaces, you’ll find this deeply rewarding. Families with older children (12+) who are physically fit might also enjoy it, but it’s definitely geared toward those ready for some exertion.

The Booking Process and What You Pay For

At roughly $86.89 per person, this tour offers a pretty good value for what’s included. It’s booked on average 35 days in advance, which suggests it’s popular but not overly booked, giving those who plan ahead a better chance to secure a spot. The price covers transportation, safety equipment, water shoes, and the guiding expertise.

Food and drinks aren’t included, so bringing your own snacks and plenty of water is essential—especially since the tour lasts about 4 hours 30 minutes, with most of that time spent actively exploring.

Starting Your Adventure

The fun begins with a hotel pickup from a designated meeting point in Cala Anguila-Cala Mendia. From there, the journey to the caves is part of the experience—you’re traveling along Mallorca’s scenic coastline in an air-conditioned minivan, listening to stories about the geological history of the caves. This part of the trip isn’t just transportation; it’s setting the scene for what’s to come.

When you arrive at the waterside, you’ll get suited up with wetsuits and water shoes, all included. The guides are usually friendly and clear about safety instructions, ensuring everyone feels prepared. The excitement builds as you wade along the seashore to reach the cave entrance, which involves some swimming to get inside.

The cave tour was not only beautiful, but also very adventurous! There were times where we squeezed in tighter spaces, climbed large rocks, and even slid down the rocks! It was very fun for ambitious people! Both of our tour guides were amazing and helpful despite us staying so far away from the location! We got to jump from a small 3 meter cliff (optional) before swimming in the water. I would highly recommend, I would even fly back to Mallorca to do this cave tour again!

Wonderful nature at it's best! Patrick was energetic and knowledgable – a delight overall! (only issue: complained a bit much about salary and a few reminders for tips)

This was an incredible experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life. Being able to tour the caves and swim in the crystal clear waters was amazing. Our guide Patrick was incredible and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this experience to everyone!

The Main Event: Inside the Caves

Once inside, you'll navigate through a network of tunnels, caverns, and underground lakes. Many reviews highlight how awe-inspiring the scenery is—glittering mineral deposits, stalagmites, and underground lakes create a surreal atmosphere. One reviewer described it as “a surreal, wonderful experience,” emphasizing how stunning and otherworldly the caves are.

Expect to crawl, walk, and swim through various sections, often with a guide leading the way. Some parts require climbing over rocks or ducking under tight spaces, so a moderate physical fitness level is necessary. The guides take care to ensure safety and comfort, but the experience can be physically demanding, especially on rough days with choppy sea conditions.

The Challenges and Variability

Weather plays a role in this tour’s experience. If sea conditions are dangerous, the guide may switch to alternative caves or different routes. Several travelers mentioned that the main cave was inaccessible due to tides or waves, but the guides were quick to offer alternative options that still provided a memorable experience.

One reviewer pointed out that the hike to the cave involves a 40-minute walk over uneven terrain, which can be tiring—so good footwear and comfortable clothes are recommended. Another pointed out that jellyfish can sometimes be an issue, so packing some protective gear or being prepared for stings is wise.
