Our recent sunrise tour of Xochimilco was one of the most serene and beautiful travel experiences. Seeing the canals blanketed in the quiet morning light is absolutely magical. The star of the tour, was our guide, Miroslava. She was absolutely wonderful—a truly engaging and passionate storyteller. We gained a deep understanding and respect of the history and ecological importance of Xochimilco. Miroslava shared fascinating insights into the traditions and meaning behind Día de los Muertos, linking it to the cultural heritage of the area. We left the tour feeling deeply connected to Mexican culture.

A wonderful activity, visiting some very special places in the canals — seeing the sunrise and then having a fantastic breakfast on a chinampa, and with interesting info all along the way from my guide! Just one note: Communicate directly with the company before you go to bed the night before. My voucher said "Pickup at 4:30 am," but after I had gone to bed the guide messaged me to say the pickup was going to be 3:45 am — that was a last-minute surprise! But the pickup went smoothly, and the early start was very well worth it! Definitely recommend!

This was a lovely experience with great company, lovely food and a beautiful way to see dawn break over the water. A well organised adventure, that was coordinated well, communication was excellent, and I felt totally safe, looked after and that I was a valued part of the group at every stage. I would absolutely sY its worth getting up super early for this, and I would love to do another of her trips another trip.

One thing to keep in mind: this is an early start, with pickup at 4:30 am, so it’s not for everyone. But if you’re someone who loves peaceful mornings, natural beauty, and unique cultural experiences, this tour might be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s ideal for couples, photography lovers, or anyone wanting to connect a little more deeply with Mexico’s natural and cultural heritage.

A Magical and Unforgettable Sunrise in Xochimilco 🌅 This sunrise tour in Xochimilco was one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences we’ve ever had. Miroslava is an absolute gem — her passion, knowledge, and love for her culture are inspiring and contagious. From the moment we set off in the early morning light, we were immersed in the rich history of pre-Hispanic life and the deep connection that locals still have with these ancestral traditions. The peace and stillness at that hour, the sounds of nature waking up, and the reflection of the sunrise on the water — it’s something I’ll never forget. We had the most delicious breakfast served on a chinampa We even saw how th…
