A Cozy Look at the Three Star Deluxe Sunset Dinner and Show in Oahu
If you’re dreaming of a special evening in Hawaii that combines stunning scenery, delicious food, and lively entertainment, the Three Star Deluxe Sunset Dinner and Show from Oahu might be just what you’re looking for. While we haven’t personally been on this cruise, the glowing reviews and detailed descriptions make it clear this is a popular choice for many travelers seeking a memorable night on the water.
What really catches our eye about this experience are two things: First, the breathtaking views of Diamond Head and Oahu’s coastline that you get from the water, offering a different perspective than land-based sightseeing. And second, the romantic five-course dinner paired with exciting live performances, making it an ideal setting for a special occasion or a relaxed date night.
The travel was great but I got sick right after eating. Viator is a good company to work with. Please consider them
Delicious food, amazing service, beautiful views, and wonderful performers. We had a great time on this dinner cruise. It seems to be suitable for everyone. They also have elevators for guests who might need it. However I’m not sure if they can accommodate dietary restrictions. I am pregnant and they were able to cook my steak well-done which was nice! I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting the island!
Great Experience… unforgettable moments were made… Warm Welcome, fresh fruits and cheeses, good drinks, 5-course meal, everything was timed right… ENTERTAINMENT…. ENTERTAINMENT…. ENTERTAINMENT…., so happy my friends and family were able to share in this experience with me for my 50th Birthday!!! It's a must! And would definitely do it again!!! Grand Finale Fun and interactive! 5-Stars+
Of course, there’s one consideration worth noting — the cruise lasts about two hours, which might feel a bit short for those hoping to spend more time soaking in the sunset or enjoying the show. It’s also worth mentioning that some reviews mention sickness on rocky waters, so if you’re prone to seasickness, bringing Dramamine might be a good idea.
This tour is best suited for couples, small groups, or anyone wanting a blend of good food, scenic views, and lively entertainment. If you love the idea of watching the sun dip below the horizon while enjoying Hawaiian music and a tasty meal, this cruise could be a highlight of your trip.

Getting a Feel for the Experience
Upon arriving at Pier 81 near Aloha Tower, you’re welcomed with a hula performance and a complimentary champagne toast — a lovely way to set the tone for the evening. The staff’s friendliness and the festive atmosphere make it clear this is a well-organized and friendly experience.
Once aboard, you’ll explore all four decks of the boat. The top observation deck offers the best vantage point to take in the sunset, with unobstructed views of Diamond Head and the shoreline. As the vessel departs Waikiki, the mood is relaxed, and the scenery is simply stunning.
The dining experience is a highlight, with a carefully curated five-course menu. Many reviews rave about the quality of the food, especially the lobster and steak, which are often described as tender and flavorful. One guest even mentioned how helpful and kind the waiter was, going out of their way to help find a lost phone — adding a personal touch to the meal.
While dining, you’ll listen to live Hawaiian and jazz music, which creates a lively and authentic Hawaiian ambiance. During the cruise, you’ll be treated to the ‘60 Years of Aloha’ performance, which features Hawaiian dancers, musicians, and audience participation. This show is often praised for its energetic, colorful presentation and the large cast, which adds to the lively atmosphere.
The entertainment was good. Fun. I recommend, The food service needs to be improved. Drinks were late. It felt like we were forgotten about. I think they were overwhelmed by the amount of people. People in my area would ask for something and it was forgotten. The quality of the meal could be improved. Veggies needed to be steamed longer and lobster could have been pre-cracked on the claws. My could mom had no strength to crack the lobster. For older ones and kids this would be tough. The steak…I don’t know what cut it was. Could have been more tender. Otherwise it was good and a nice experience.
This was a wonderful experience at sea! The food and drink were delicious, the service was fabulous and reviews were extraordinary, including the fireworks on Friday night!
We were on the SOH 3 years ago, & have to say we enjoyed that experience much more. For as expensive as it is, there needs to be more servers to clear & deliver food & beverages. Some people around us got dinner only 30 minutes before the show & departure. Our table was constantly full of dirty dishes & beverages took very long to get to us. Our server was so sweet, but she needed backup. Otherwise, we would have enjoyed it much more. The food was good & show was great. Staff was very nice too, just needed more of them for the size of the ship.
The sunset viewing is a major part of the experience. Many guests comment on how beautiful the sky turns during this time, with vibrant hues reflected on Diamond Head. One review noted that they would have appreciated a little more time to watch the sunset, which is worth keeping in mind if sunset viewing is a priority.
The cruise wraps up back at the starting point after about two hours — or an hour longer on Fridays — so it’s a nice, compact evening without feeling rushed. The entire experience is quite popular, with bookings averaging about 40 days in advance, so planning ahead is wise.
