10 useful things to say in Portuguese

November 11, 2016 by Gretta Schifano 2 Comments

I’d planned to create this language printable before our summer trip to Portugal, but I was waylaid by passport renewal stress (read The one where I forget to renew my son’s passport, and you’ll understand). Anyway, I met Marisa Mouta from the Porto Tourism Board at the World Travel Market in London, and she helped with the language and pronunciation for this Portuguese language printable (thank you Marisa).

Portuguese language printable

This printable follows the same format and includes the same ten words and phrases as my other language sheets. The only thing to note is that if you thank someone in Portuguese, you need to use a different word depending on whether you’re male or female. It doesn’t matter who you’re talking to (Marisa tells me), but if you’re female you say obrigada, and if you’re male, obrigado. Got it?

This is what the Portuguese printable looks like:

Love these! I’ll print out the French & German sheet for our boys (ok, for us too 😉 ). They’re both homeschooled so this could be something nice to learn together.

If you need help with creating one in Hebrew, let me know.

Thanks Anne – I’m not sure how I could do that with the different alphabet though?
