Excellent tour of Ephesus. Our guide looked after us very well. Our guide Yeara made our tour interesting and enjoyable, full of interesting facts. We were picked up on time in very comfortable transport abd dropped back at cruise port again. All our party of 4 would highly recommend Yeara our guide. Date of tour 7/11/2925. Marion Wiley

It was chaotic finding our guide. Thousands of people exiting the ship into a small area of guides waiting for their group. Once our group of 6 was together it still took quite a while for the guide to get our van. Ephesus was overwhelmed with tourists. Thousands of people in groups of various sizes were all trying to see the site. Very unpleasant. Our guide had to herd us to places where we could hear him. Following the tour of Ephesus we were forced to endure a visit to a carpet store and lunch at an unmemorable restaurant. Drop off at the port was easy. I was at Ephesus 40 years ago for a very different experience. That time we parked our rental car in a gravel lot, paid a few lira and wa…

This tour provided us with transportation from the cruise terminal. I wanted to see Ephesus for many years and I was not disappointed. Lovely day (10/10/25 @ 11 a.m.) and a lot of tourist. Guide and driver were excellent (Yeser). We had abunda

However, one thing to keep in mind is that admission fees to sites like the Terrace Houses and museums are not included, so you’ll need cash or cards for those. Also, since the tour is designed to fit into a cruise or hotel schedule, timing can be tight if you’re trying to squeeze in many stops.

This tour is most suitable for travelers who want a comprehensive, relaxed experience at Ephesus, especially those who appreciate having a guide to navigate the crowds and share insights. If you’re after a deep-dive or independent exploration, it may not be quite long enough, but for most, it hits the right balance.

We were met by Utku, a licensed tour guide as we got off our cruise ship. He was friendly and very knowledgeable on the history of Ephesus and the local area. He made us feel very comfortable and completely at ease. If you are looking for an English tour, he speaks impeccable English, you will not have any communication issues. I am not sure if you can request him specifically, but if you can I would highly recommend him. If he is representative of the tour company he works for, then I would say you are in good hands. We went to the Temple of Artemis first, then stopped at a ceramic business, where we saw some of the pottery making process and the showroom. We enjoyed complimentary Turkish c…

Ephesus was very interesting to see, even if you are not a huge history buff , The tour provided transportation and guided walk through the site and terrace houses. Our guide Bilal was extremely knowledgable and responsive.

Our guide, Taylan Oner, did an excellent job. Not only is he highly organized (which allowed us to get through lines quickly), but he is highly knowledgeable about the sites we visited. He knew exactly how much time we needed to spend in very location in order to make our return trip to the cruise ship in time, and he adjusted our schedule on the fly to do so. He did take us to a ceramic merchant in Ephesus for a demonstration, which we had originally asked to skip (tour guides in Turkey are apparently expected to take tourists to local merchants like rug/ceramics factories) but turned out to be more interesting then we expected. The ceramic items for sale were much more interesting than one…

The pick-up and drop-off service is another major plus. Whether you’re arriving by cruise ship or staying at a hotel in Kusadasi, this tour makes logistics simple. You won’t have to worry about navigating unfamiliar streets or figuring out transportation; your driver and guide will handle that, so you can focus on enjoying the day.

We arrived at the port of Kusadasi on recent cruise. We were only going to in port for a short time. We booked this private tour to see the ancient ruins of Ephesus and the Terrace Houses. The tour operator met us at the port as expected. The guide was excellent with a vast knowledge of the site and the excavations. we went straight the site and got right in. If you want to pay cash, you have to pay in Turkish Lira otherwise you have to use a credit card. The sit was crowded due to several ships in port, but the guide moved us through the site efficiently. As mentioned previously, the guide had a vast knowledge of the area and kept was interested throughout our visit. It was a great experien…

Exploring Ephesus: The Ancient Marvel

The main highlight is, of course, Ephesus itself. The city, dating back to Greek and Roman times, is remarkably well-preserved. Walking through its streets, you’ll feel like stepping into a different era — chariot wheel marks still remain on the marble paving stones, and iconic structures like the Great Theater and Celsus Library are awe-inspiring.

Your guide will point out significant sites like the Temple of Hadrian, Trajan Fountain, and Domitian Temple, helping you understand their purpose and history. The Odeon, a musical venue that hosted performances, is another fascinating site.

A highlight for many is the Public Agora, where St. Paul preached and locals bought their daily wares, and the marble street that connects many of these landmarks. The entire site is a testament to ancient engineering, commerce, and culture.

  • Review insights: Travelers often praise the “guides” who make the ruins come alive, helping you grasp what you’re seeing beyond just stones and columns.

Terrace Houses: A Peek into Roman Luxury

Next, you’ll visit the Terrace Houses, often called the “Houses of the Rich.” These remarkably preserved Roman residences reveal what life was like for the elite. You’ll notice intricate mosaics and vibrant frescoes, alongside architectural features like early central heating systems.

This was a very informative tour. The 3 hour tour lasted much longer. All Turkish tours include a lunch and carpet weaving school demo at a local co-op. We were hesitant to go at first, but thouroughly enjoyed the hospitality and beautiful carpets.

Wow! Bilal was so informative and friendly! He was proud of his country, but humble. He shared so much information with us and his English is impeccable. He took us to a ceramics shop and rug maker (I think it's required by the government) and it felt a little high pressure to buy something, but we were prepared for this after watching several Youtube videos. Ephesus, Terrace Houses and Ephesus Experience is a must – we were so surprised at how large the excavated town was! Just Beautiful!
Sofie P
Great tour and great guide! This was way beyond what we expected, including the rug making and the pottery tours.

This site adds context to the grandeur of Roman Ephesus, showing how the wealthy lived and decorated their homes. The houses’ well-preserved state and the level of detail in their decoration make it a favorite for archaeology buffs.

  • Review highlights: Visitors love the glimpse into Roman daily life and praise the site’s preservation, describing it as “a window into Roman luxury.”

The Temple of Artemis: One of the Seven Wonders

The Temple of Artemis is a short drive from the main ruins, but it’s worth seeing. Although only columns and ruins remain today, this was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Dedicated to the goddess Artemis, it was a symbol of architectural and religious significance.

Your guide will share stories about its construction, its destruction, and the dramatic events—like the murder of Cleopatra’s sister—that took place here. It’s a quickstop, but one packed with historical intrigue.

  • Review insights: Guests find the site fascinating, appreciating the stories about its past even in its ruined state.

Wrap-up and Return to Kusadasi

The tour concludes with a return to your hotel or cruise port. The operator emphasizes the importance of timely return, especially for cruise travelers, and actively monitors schedules to avoid missed departures.

Personable, informative, and engaging. We have two teenagers and Ozzy made sure to engage each of them individually throughout the day to keep them involved and interested. We had lunch in a lovely spot that felt like my grandmother’s backyard. I would absolutely recommend to my friends. Thank you for a truly meaningful experience!!

Our tour guide, Necdot-“Nico” was very knowledgeable of Turkish history and gave us amazing insight into regional ancient history. Highly recommended this particular tour!
Robert P
Bilal was simply outstanding. He was so kind and took great care of my family and me. His knowledge of Ephesus was second to none, he was patient, and allowed us to move at our own pace. The van was very clean and nice. We went to lunch at a co-op after for the Turkish rug demonstration. It was fascinating and while they did try to sell us, it was very low pressure. We actually enjoyed that part quite a bit. Can’t say enough good things about Bilal.

The last stop is a quick look at Kusadasi’s waterfront, ensuring you're back in plenty of time. Even with the tight schedule, the tour allows enough time to enjoy the sights comfortably.
